Greg, I can't see your pic.
Mine has this scope:

In these rings (low version):

I have them on the Ruger-supplied forward rail. The rings are a bit of a PITA to get set up compared to some other designs, but they're light and the setup allows you to use the ruger sights as backups with no changes. I recommend the Leupold scope over the other scout eye relief options from Burris and various other manufacturers.
Looks nice
I have partially fixed that problem by replacing the original 2.5 LER scope with a new variable 1X4 power LER scope. That helps with the issue of seeing stuff better but it does not help with the back lighting issue.
Leupoold VX II 1.5x4x20 it's actually a 1.5 x4 not a 1.0....What scope did you choose?

The Steyr is wicked accurate and shoots and points like a dream. The back up sights are complete joke and totally unusable in my estimation.H&Hhunter; Interesting observations. Thanks.
I'm interested in the GSR for the sighting system and size. No resorting to a custom smith with that one.
I have looked into the Steyr but the sights are only a backup. I hear it's very accurate.
