I have a P229 Legion and will tell you it is the best gun I have ever owned. It shoots lights out and carries quite nicely.

There is one major problem I've found with the Legion. You never seem to have enough ammo at the range. :). Bring more than you think you'll use.

Congrats on your purchase

Nice score with the two SIGs! Love the look of the Legion P229 and the melted edges of the P224 SAS.

I am waiting on a new P227 SAS Gen 2 to make it in from an online purchase I made last week. So basically, it is a .45 version of the P229. Exact same dimensions, but with out the accessory rail and with a carry bevel. It comes with the same SRT trigger set and I ordered the Greyguns trigger that comes on the Legion.

So essentially I will have a Legion like .45 to compliment the 229 9mm. Really frustrated that it is taking so long to get it in and now I have to travel for business. I won't be able to get it until Friday of next week!

Man! Congratulations on picking up two great pistols. I absolutely love the Legion and especially the 229 Legion.

Harley you are going to love the 227. Great purchase, easily my favorite 45 combat pistol. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Tex I am sure I will if it is even half the gun the P229 is. I just wish it would bloody well come in!

I will let you know how easy the trigger install is.

Cal, if you ever shoot a Legion you will understand. Its easy to think it is just hype, but they did a good job with the way they build the Legions.

mesinge2, I meant to say congrats on your purchase and not steal the thread. You will really enjoy both of those. Very nice combo!

Good buy. Not sure I would buy legions but Wouldn't hesitate to buy Sigs.

I have 2 1911's, 3 P226's a 320, a 238 and a P225 Guess you can say I like Sigs.
Same here. I have SIG 1911s including a Scorpion, TacOps, GSR, Nightmare Carry, and Traditional. As well as a 230 DAO, 238, and 226 DAK. Now the new 224 and 229.

No worries. I actually really want the 227 TacOps.

I also want the new 10mm 220.

Not to be a killjoy, but I saw from the American Rifleman article that these go for around 1500 dollars... What does it do that my CZ 75 can't do for 600?

It may fit in the hand of people with larger hands....... though maybe fat CZ grips are a possibility. Where did they get $1500 from? I see them on Gunbroker for $1200 regularly. You also get access to Legion exclusive stuff.

Don't get me wrong, the CZ 75 is a fine firearm, but don't assume that because it works for you, it will work for everyone. I have consistently found Sigs and Berettas to fit my larger hands better than most other handguns. CZ's small grip size is why I haven't bought one yet, because I know my shooting will suffer for an ill fitting grip.

I drank the Kool-Aid myself and snapped up the first P-229 Legion in 9mm I saw locally, after regretfully passing on a P-226 SAO Legion previously. Not $1500 either, although local prices have gone up about $100 since the first Legions hit the shelves.

In my judgement, my Legion is easily the best, most accurate semi-auto 9mm production pistol I've ever, ever shot -- with a simply phenomenal trigger (even the DA pull is close to an old S&W revolver with a sweet DA pull). The ergonomics are spectacular, the gun points well and the grip is an awesome fit for just about anyone's hands.

Only downside of buying one was that I had to fulfill the promise to my wife to pick her up a (new model) P-225 (A1) ... which I've also discovered is the coolest single-stack nine ever made. For the purists, the naysayers and the haters, here's news: the new P-225 is also a superb pistol and light-years ahead of the old 225.

Well, there's that pesky notion of what constitutes a great DA/SA trigger (and SIG's Grayguns trigger on the Legion is that good, possibly better than advertised). Then there's ergonomics, as much of a CZ-lover that I am, it's still a honkin' big pistol for many. The Legion's sights are a substantial upgrade to anything CZ's ever put out, and finally, there's the accuracy, and my Legion is markedly more accurate than my two CZ-75s or for that matter, any of the numerous CZ pistols I've ever used.

I just went ahead and ordered the Greyguns trigger and SRT group for my P220.

Yes, the combo is that good!

I like that new P225-A1, but I paid less for my German built Sig P6 and my Sig P228 combined, than what a new P225-A1 is going for.

Mesinge2 which tacops do you have? I have the 226 tacops and like it almost as much as my legion. The da is a bit better on my legion but I may have Robert Burke "the sig armor fix that.
My favorite 9's

I'm waiting for them to come out with a P220 legion and then I plan on getting one of those.

My TacOps is the 1911 variant and it currently serves as my home defense gun. BTW, Love the grips on your TacOps. Who makes them?

I liked the slight relief cut under the trigger guard that Legions have, feels nice. I recently bought a Colt Lightweight Commander that has it as well. Legion 229 is on the radar, but I'm curious if there is that much of a difference between it and the M11 performance wise.
