I was having kind of a bad day today. I've had a pistol at a local smith's shop now for seven weeks for what was supposed to be a two week job. He called me to come get the pistol as it was finally ready. I showed up to find out what I had asked to be done to the pistol was actually not done. So now he has it for who knows much longer.

Anyway I decided to stop at some pawn shops on my way home. As I was standing at the case or the third shop, and employee came from the back with a like new Kahr T9 to put in the case. I love Kahrs (I know some guys don't) and have been wanting a T9 for a long while but never thought I would "accidentally" run into one.

I've been finding it harder and harder to find good deals at pawn shops over the last few years so I was a bit reluctant to ask what they wanted for it ... after all this pawn shop is known to ask for more than new price on most of their stuff. I about fell over when he told me he'd take $425 for it. I told him to give me a 4473.

I filled out the form and twenty minutes later he handed me the pistol, box, AND EIGHT MAGAZINES! I didn't even ask how many mags came with it when he told me the price. Seven of the mags look like they've never been loaded - not a scratch or scuff on the base plates, bodies or followers.

I gave him the $425 plus tax and hurried to the range. Here she is. Second photo is 3 mags (24 rounds) at 21 feet. I think she might be a keeper.

Ding, ding, ding, ding! I think we have our lucky winner! What a fantastic deal! A like new T9 and 8 mags and it shoots that nice first time out at the range! Definitely makes up for the problem with the gunsmith.

P.S.-If possible I think I would get my gun back and find another gunsmith.

I think that's a great find of a great gun. I had one briefly a coupla years back. Didn't keep it because, at heart, I prefer-hammered fired over striker-fired and I was pursuing Hi-Powers at the time. As an aside, I noticed that the single stack T-9 with its wood grips was just about the same grip thickness as a Hi-Power with G10 grips. The only thing "bigger" about the Hi-power is its length. Still, if I were made of money I would have kept the T9 and called myself lucky. It's a beauty. Congratulations.

I do like single-stack pistols.

Btw, that pistol and eight mags for $425 is outrageous. Good for you!!

The gunsmithing thing does have me a bit riled, especially because it was supposed to be an anniversary gift for my wife, but I've managed to remain calm about the really bad customer service. He won't be getting any more business from me especially because I was supposed to have it back today, and done correctly but ...

Anyway he bright spot is that I found a gun that I really love, for a ridiculous price because of it. So that's a net gain, I guess.

That was a unbelievable deal. Nice gun at a great price. A T9 was my second Kahr. Lead to many others. Enjoy.
I also have a CM9, CW380 and a K9 ... the K9 was my favorite before I found this. Still love the K9 but love this T9 more.

That is a classy looking gun. Nice find.
Yeah, I think it's one of the sexiest pistols I've seen, even prettier than the photos of it I used to drool over. Maybe not as sexy as my CZ 97B but pretty darn close. I like it a lot.

Boy, lucky for you.

I surf pawn shops and never come across anything close to that deal.

Good job.
It's extremely hard to find good deals in pawn shops these days. I guess that's one draw back of them easily being able to check going prices on websites like gunbroker and armslist. You almost have to visit them everyday (or get lucky) to catch the occasional good deal.

Kahr magazines are expensive. But 8 magazines? He forgot to charge you for the pistol:neener:!

A T9 is on my long term list. My MK9 is a sweet shooter.

Some day, when you get the chance, look at the polymer sibling to the T9, the TP9. It surpassed the T9 as my personal favorite Kahr. They shoot the same accuracy and recoil wise but with a grip sleeve on the TP9, it feels better in my hand. If Kahr also put the same polymer material grip used on the K9 on the T9 maybe I'd feel different as I really like the standard K9 texture and "gripiness". Two great guns. Twins... but different personalities.

Don't go playing the lottery for a while, you've used up a lot of luck right there.

That's a fantastic deal. Congratulations.
