In general, I think gun stickers on vehicles are a bad idea. Maybe an NRA sticker or Gadsden Flag is okay. I don't do it, but I don't judge unless it's one of those ridiculous macho man type stickers. Examples:

45, because they don't make a 46
45 ACP, because shooting twice is silly
Armed citizen inside, nothing inside is worth dying for.
etc, etc.

At the range this past weekend, I saw a bumper sticker that said, "Keep Honking, I'm Reloading..."

I'll say that I understand the message that sticker is trying to convey, but what does that even mean?

1. I'll shoot you if you honk at me, but only after I gather up the loose rounds in my vehicle and load them into a magazine?
2. If someone is still honking, and you have to reload, does this mean that your entire first magazine missed, and despite all the gunfire, the other guy is still honking at you? Or maybe he's dead and his head is laying on the horn?
3. Wouldn't it be easier to say what you really mean: I'm mentally unstable with a Napoleon complex, and I'll shoot you in even a non-self defense situation. Or perhaps a sticker that reads: I like guns. I have guns in the car.

I'm all for free speech, but how come it's not obvious that it's wiser to just be armed, prepared, responsible, humble, subtle and non-aggressive?

Obviously this behavior represents a small percentage of gun owners, but I'm always amazed at the stupid stuff people do.

It is, actually, to most of us. But some people believe that the only reason to exercise a civil right such as free speech is that it exists. Others actually want to, and, for those in this scenario, they may be simply expressing their support for another recognized civil right, albeit in a misguided or distasteful manner.

I don't have any stickers on either of my trucks, and would likely not go beyond a gunmaker's logo, like the Ruger eagle, or the already-mentioned Gadsden banner, which really isn't a "gun" sticker as much as a "limit government" sticker.

My guess is that he's trying to convey the message that he is armed in a humorous manner.

For people with no sense of humor, interpret it as:

"I HAVE A GUN"

I don't think that we should promote the current culture that can't laugh at anything. People make jokes about what they know.

Nothing wrong with some dark humor IMO. Other stickers promote brands we as individuals personally favor and some make statements that some will applaud and others will hate.

I used to put them on my truck when I was younger. It attracts criminals and gets the attention of any anti gun LEO who may be having a really slow day. I try to keep a very low profile these days.

The insurance provider for our shop told us not to put any obvious gun stickers on our trucks. I don't think it's a rule, but he seemed to insinuate that he's seen bad consequences from it.

I think some of them are extremely tacky, and ask for problems. I've seen the "Keep honking" one that you're referring to and thought it was obnoxious and begged for the wrong kind of attention. I will admit though that I have some very vague gun related stickers on my truck. Things that I don't think a thief would recognize.

I've noticed that a great many people have a difficult time showing a little class. That's probably because they don't have any.

This sticker has been on vehicles since at least the 1970's. Back then it was just shrugged off as satire. Today of course, with PC having totally infiltrated Americas soul, that message is analyzed, scrutinized and now the driver can be jeopardized! :D

It's 2016 and the world looks bleak, and that is all on the subject I'm going to speak! ;)

two stickers are on the rear of my Jeep TJ

A Texas flag , and one that says

"God bless our troops... Especially our snipers"

You know, if you ignore these stickers, and don't put any on your car, you don't have to worry about what they mean.
Indeed!
(21) "Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?" (22) "Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me."-John 21:21,22

i wouldn't get overly angsty about it. my guess is the "keep honking i'm reloading" sticker is probably used 90% by people who don't have ccw and probably don't even own a gun. it's a joke.

i used to think gun stickers in general were a bad idea due to theft, but these days, i think reasonably responsible ones (i.e. not the "kill em all let God sort them out" variety) are probably good advertising for our cause. the more fence sitters see normal, responsible, non-threatening people and associate them with gun owners, the better off we all are.

I don't think badly of those who put such stickers on their vehicles, but it's not for me. It's not like people driving down the road are going to change their opinions on the matter one way or the other. They don't care. Which means the only people I'd be impressing would be potential criminals.

I don't put stickers on my vehicles because they can be a pain to remove when they deteriorate. I do have one I was tempted to use but figured the police might not appreciate the humor especially if they had to stop me at night. It says "Eight out of ten voices in my head say don't shoot".

The only stickers on my vehicles are the state inspection & county license stickers. I even remove any dealership advertising sticker or plate (actually, if a car/truck that I am considering has been drilled for an advertising plate installation, I will not buy it).

I have accumulated a LOT of firearms-related vehicle stickers but will never attach any of them to any of my vehicles.

I do not wish to attract any negative attention from any miscreants that are upset by a sticker attached to my vehicle.

Better Safe ...

I put gun related stickers on my safes, think it will give my hiding spots away?

Just one sticker and it's a USMC foil attached with a magnet. Meaning, figure it out yourself.

I can't comprehend why anyone who open or CC's would have any advertising stickers on their vehicles. Now general "gun lovers" that don't carry are a different story.

I personally have never had any stickers on any vehicles I've owned. Although back in my drag racing days I had a couple of license plates that I thought were cool.

Honestly I'd love to put a sticker somewhere on my truck that said "I Support Law Enforcement", but with the current tide of social affairs I'm afraid I'd end up with damage to my vehicle if not tools missing as well.

NRA sticker on each vehicle plus, "Blue Lives Matter".

I have plenty of tee shirts that are funny, some dark humor and politically incorrect. Do I care what some think? NO!!!!

1 says: "Gun don't kill people, It's mostly the bullets!

People love the shirts. They comment all the time. Once in a while someone will mumble something under their breathe.

I have NRA stickers on my cars and on one car an STI and CZ sticker. I doubt anyone I need to worry about knows what they mean. Best sticker says Cell Phone Use and Texting Prohibited.
