I have a 617ss Taurus that my wife has confiscated as she loves it and is going to use it as her CCW. I really liked it as it was a great pocket carry gun. I loved the fact it was a 7 shot .357 in a very small package. I see Taurus does not make it any more. Any else make a 7shot snubbie? It can even be a .38 as that will work just fine for her.

I had a 617 "tracker" for a while. I liked the gun, but it developed timing issues. I thought that the lugs were smaller and closer together in the 7 shot compared to a six shooter. I thought it made made the timing more complicated.

It is a little bigger than the Taurus, but I wouldn't call the Taurus 617 a pocket gun either. But the OP did, so he must have big pockets.

The the S&W 242TI is another 7 shot 38 special +P.It's an L frame, but is Aluminum and Titanium and weights about 19 oz.
