Just wondering if anyone here has handled one and has a range report, and if there is any legal way for an individual to own one in the US.

I've often wished for a modern 7.62x25!

Thanks in advance!

I believe that the Canadians are able to import it. Sadly, here in the " Land of The Free" we're caught up in Bush/Bennett era import bans and Obama sanctions&trade agreements.

since its a sig p226 copy in 7.62x25...try writing sig and see if they'll make us a version for about 1/2 to 1/3rd the price a 9mm bare bones p226 sells to us at.;)

id buy a sig in 7.62x25, rather have a glock version so i could afford it, but id want a double stack with more than 10 rounds.

we all like to feel sorry for our canadian brothers and sisters but their country doesnt seem to care where the guns allowed came from or how many foreign parts. they got us beat on that nonsense and that is plain sad.

I know the Bush deal applied to full rifle barreled guns, but I note a lot of Chinese "parts" still come in like AR sights and such.......
This leads me to two questions:

Will the pistol in questions complete slide group to include barrel work on an actual SiG 226 grip frame and will those 7.62 P magazines fit and feed?

Would importing those parts from Canada or even direct from China be possible?

Just thought of a third question JIC a miracle occurs and Chinese rifled guns are importable to the USA in the future will the Norinco 9x19 parts fit on the 7.62 P gun allowing one to have a conversion of sorts?

Or a 45acp 1911 magazine, really (the conversions are really half-baked)

I also believe it is the Clinton-era ban on Norinco imports that actually shut the door on this gun

The conversion kits are designed to work with 38 super 1911s, not 45. The barrel are a little long, but can be trimmed to fit

The rounds have to sit at a diagonal inside the mag, and only five or six fit. Tok is a really long round.

They actually have another advantage; There are no SBS restrictions over and above regular shotgun restrictions.
