45 ACP-wise, I'm far, far less experienced here than schmeky, but a few months after buying my 97B I sold the only other 45 ACP I had, a Kimber Custom II that I THOUGHT I liked a lot until I put a few rounds through the 97B. And that was before I added some Cajun Gun Works parts to it, which made it even better.
Another vote for the CZ97B. An absolute pleasure gun to shoot. And with a good tight fitting barrel bushing and a little trigger work, as accurate a shooter as any .45 ACP going.
My Beretta PX4 Storm is a soft shooting 45acp. The rotating barrel absorbs a lot of the energy before it transfers into your arm.
The recoil is less then my 1911's or my P220.
