Can you give a budget/price ceiling?

ETA Stoeger has the X-20S that's very affordable, supposed to be quieter than the Gamo Whisper's. Velocity is advertised at a high 1200 fps, that's no doubt w/alloy pellets. Using a heavy pellet would bring the velocity in line w/what you want. It also comes in .22.

Any of the current nitro piston guns should be available in pretty much what you want. Even the 1200s usually shoot 850-950 with standard weight pellets.

Yeah, the mid power springers, atleast the cheap ones seem to be gone. I searched for a bit, used to be everyone made one or two.
I searched pyramyd air qnd found a few youth models, 600-800fps range. Also i founf alot of euro imports in the 300 dollar plus range.


If you arnt interested in those, then perhaps a Qb78 (co2), or benji pumper would fit the bill.

You can score a Crosman or whatever Diana 34 clone like a Ruger for <$100, even as low as $60. The suppressor guns aren't as common but with Crosman you can buy a suppressor barrel for pretty cheap, like ~$25 delivered. Switching caliber is just as easy, just order the cal you want, or both. The Titan is a nice choice if you want a nitro gun. The referb Titans used to be ~$80 but I guess they sold to quickly so now $110.
If you get a coil spring gun then you can adjust the power down. A Crosman is very easy to do this with. I have one I cut the power down from it's original 18.5ftlbs (1025fps with std 7.9gr) to ~9ftlbs or ~725fps w/ same pellet. It also dropped the cocking effort in half so ~12lbs to cock which is insanely easy, and the overall noise, recoil etc drops to match. So an outstanding target/plinking gun. But adjustable anywhere in that range and easily adjusted back if needed. The Stoeger X20S is basically the exact same gun with a quieter suppressor but much shorter barrel. Imo the Crosman is the better deal, more power if you want it and cheaper.
Crosman nitro guns can be dropped in power buy getting the lower power gas spring #BT5M22-00-1
If you get a Diana clone you can drop power by cutting the spring, but more work to dial it in and ~$20 to get it back to full power again. I can explain how to mod the Crosman and/or buy a suppressor barrel if interested, chevota at hotmail and I'll send a tuning guide that includes that and info to make whatever gun you get better.
The QB79 from Archer Airguns is a great option too, specifically with the 9oz CO2 tank worth some 600 shots.

Used to be medium power was 700fps .177.
Suppressed barrels run the price up even aftermarket ones ,
Both Stoger and Gamo are rifles as you describe but both are over $200.
Really consider a RWS 34, though not suressed, it's a hell of a good rifle!

Nice looking gun

you can "detune" a lot of the cheaper guns.. for a cheaper lower power the Old sheridans multipumps can do a great job for a cheaper gun.

What is the target? I love my .177 guns in that power range but I have mostly the beeman HW/FWB series or pre beeman hw/fwb guns and find them very well worth the extra money for the better triggers and behaviors. My firs is 30 years old and as good as ever- a few bucks a year for quality is worth it to me.

maybe a rws 34- maybe detuned a bit ?

The Walther Terrus is really coming together. I have run about 150 pellets through it and its shooting really smooth. I tried a couple accuracy tests with a couple different pellets with JSB 8.44 looking the best so far.

Its hard to beat the JSB exacts, I use the 15.89s in my custom QB . Glad to hear that guns working out for you, def looks to be a shooter
