I call my 3", adjustable sight 36 my "Trail Masterpiece", my 3.2" SP 101, old reliable, my original CA Bulldog, "Thumper". Gave my two Rossi three inches, a 357 and a 44 Special to the kids. My 2 3/4" Security Six rides with me in a bug out briefcase along with cheerleaders, a knife, camera and binoculars. I killed two deer with that one.
Wish I had a 3" 27.

This is my Ruger Speed-Six 3-incher. Born a .38Spc, I had it re-throated to .357. It's as small and lightweight as a S&W 66 snub, but as strong as 686! And I think it's better balanced than Deaf's snubbie Ruger GP. If I could get an even lighter barrel, that would be better (but I'm not complaining).

Too bad Ruger stopped making it!

Heck Confederate, that is a real good Speed Six. I have one with the 2 3/4 inch barrel and yes while the GP-100 is an excellent gun, the Speed Six is a better carry gun (and yes it balances better.) I've got 4 'Sixes' and only one GP-100. That should give everyone here the hint.

What do you guys think about a 3 3/4" barreled Ruger Vaquero in 44 Mag (Talo model) as a concealed carry gun? Just really like it's look and the birdshead grip makes it easy for concealed carry.....at least I think so. Give me your opinions please!

As much as I like short barreled SA revolvers I wouldn't carry one for self defense purposes.

Three inch .32 long is easy to shoot and scary accurate. Strictly for fun or target, but my friend dropped it in his pocket once when his concealed carry piece wasn't available.

I don't own a 3" handgun. But many back country wanderers are buying the Ruger 3" .454 Casull revolvers. I have always been partial to the 4" & 5" handguns. The Ruger Lipsey .45 Colt convertible is a favorite as well.
