Welcome one and all. What's the over/under on when Henry starts making them?

I'm not buying any guns this year. I'm not buying any guns this year. I'm not buying any guns this year. I won't buy this Savage in 6.5 Creedmore. I won't buy this Savage....dang it....I ain't gonna make it.

I'm buying no more AR's until I see a left hand side charger. I was hoping Savage would jump on that band wagon. It's just another tricked out AR that's already been done a million times.

I think a $5-600 AR will do just fine now that prices are going down with the Owebama Regime.

Once a few range reports come out about the 6.5 I'll start saving...or leasing the kid for yard work to the neighbors.

JP Enterprises has a charging handle on the left side of their small and large frame AR's. They are not cheap though.

My LGS is on the hunt to get me a MSR 10 Hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor coming from one of their dealers,I'll probably see it around July but sooner I hope,I'm saving my funds.

That Creedmoor AR10 is really going to get some attention...it got mine!

Cause there aren't enough AR's out there? I just don't see how entering the AR market right now makes business sense.

Savage has a hell of a following, as long as thier ARs dont out right suck they will sell like hot cakes, and i really dont see savage putting out a bad AR.

I'm a big Savage rifle fan, as far as their bolt guns go. Accurate right out of the box, and they don't break the bank.

But as others have noted, bringing out ARs into this crowded market may not work out so well. They'll have to really stand out I would think, to be successful.

I wish them well, though. I like it when new guns come out, although my wallet is unhappy.
Obviously, I need a new wallet.

I expect many of the AR-15 manufactures will shut down in the next 2 years. The market is flooded with AR-15 rifles and the Gun Ban fear is over.
There will always be a demand for these quality rifles such as the Savage, Colt etc. The secret maybe in offering popular calibers such as the 6.5 Creedmoor..

Stag is entering the AR-10 market as well. Gonna debut it at the Shotshow.

I agree with you that the market is saturated. But, a company's management doesn't just wake up one morning and say, "I think I'm going to start building ARs...", it takes a year or more to enter the business (unless you're just going to contract it all out) and 12 to 18 months ago, it looked like the next President was going to be wearing a dress and a Clinton back in the White House would have certainly continued the panic buying for another four years.

I agree. Prices on ARs are going down because demand is down in the wake of Hillary's loss. People who spent the last few years putting every penny into guns, ammunition, components and survival gear will now start turning some of that money to other needs like a new pair of shoes, a new washing machine or a new car.

The question in the AR market today is no longer who has the better AR, but who is better capitalized, better managed and has the more robust business plan.

It's not marketing. The 6mm and 6.5mm Creedmoor cartridges have almost completely supplanted the .243 and .260 as long range precision cartridges because they're better at the job.

I think that Savage has the potential to have a really great AR 10 style gun here.
I'm anxious to see if they can really pull it off.

yes the creedmoor being a thousandth of an inch different then the 260 Remington is so much better. one was marketed brilliantly the other was not and Remington has destroyed another great round

If they are as accurate as their bolt actions, they should be great.

I don't know why I bother responding to you.

Competition shooters don't buy marketing. They buy what works. Most of them are shooting either the 6/6.5 Creedmoor or Lapua cartridges. Not the .243/.260. And they're handloading, so I'm not sure what marketing you're referring to. The Creedmoor cartridges have the advantages of a 30° shoulder and a longer neck.
