What rifle is this female anti jihad sniper using?

aside from the unique, fascinating, but sad nature of this woman's story, what rifle (wooden stock) is she seen with in the images in the U.K. story? is it a rifle that was historically used by snipers when originally employed? i attached the best closeup i could find, but if you search her name and images you'll come up with some of the front of the rifle.

Whatever they are armed with female Peshmerga traditionally carry an extra cartridge in a pocket so they don't accidentally shoot their last round in battle. You've got to admire them.

The article repeatedly mentions her using an Dragunov SVD, but that's clearly not what's seen in the photo above.

"Describing the intensity of a sniper's skills she added: 'You have to be very patient. You have to be very calm. And you have to focus. You cannot lose concentration for one moment. You are covered in blankets and camouflage. I use a Russian SVD Dragunov sniper rifle.'

'As a sniper I could be on the front line for nine days at a time,' Joanna told MailOnline.
'I would get up at 4-5am and get my SVD rifle and AK rifle my bag and two hand grenades.'"

What's the source of that image? I'm wondering, based on her attire and the background, if it was taken at a long range shooting match, or something. Perhaps that's her personal/hunting rifle, as opposed to her "tools of the trade"...

From what is visible the scope bases maybe "Frogs"? It appears to be a WWII Nazi rifle? The bolt handle has been bent. The scope is modern.

I saw that the article showed her with two rifles at different locations, and one of them not likely a combat setting - as evidenced by the possible name tag - so I was not trusting the dragunov she referred to was actually depicted in the article; and it surely wasn't an AK (she also mentioned) 47 or 74. And net searches showed her with numerous rifles. So I wanted to check by asking here. That image I posted was from a search of images by her name; I only chose it cause it appeared to be the same wooden rifle she had in the article only from a somewhat better angle.

Fighting a war is a dirty nasty filthy hard......business.

I understand their beliefs set a specific line of things they need to follow.....but that would be a nightmare. Being bald you got sand fleas....I can't possibly imagine....tougher then me.

They are tough. They are well aware of what they face. They don't surrender. Kurdish forces have been in the lead of trying to rescue various religious minorities from being devastated by ISIS forces. Brigades of women have played a role in that. The Kurds as a whole are more than one religion. After the fall of Saddam H. they came to control their territory in Northern Iraq. They have respected the rights of all religious groups there. Though many live in Turkey and Iran, where their rights are not respected. The Peshmerga, based in Northern Iraq have been some of the best fighters. Those based in Turkey have often been in dispute with the government there, the PKG I think it is, Stalinist influenced.
