I can't believe nobody has mentioned TiborasaurusRex. He is mostly about long range shooting and tactics. I like his videos (even is they are on the long side) and he sure is knowledgeable about what he is taking about, a trait seldom seen this day and age.

Agree. IV8888 has produced over 800 videos. 100 on reloading and 82 Gunsmithing. A lot of good stuff in there and his gun reviews are on par with many. He (like any other You Tube guy) is going to take flack regardless of how well they do, do not do, or how much they know or seem to know. Me personally I try not to lose focus on what someone is contributing. To me he's a big contributor to the You Tube firearm community.

Exactly. I followed Eric's video on handloading my first rifle cartridges. And Ray(?) on the channel walked me through building my AR lower step by step (minus the different 2 stage trigger I got). I also followed Eric's video on doing an at home trigger job on a Mosin Nagant and it worked beautifully. I haven't watched every video but every one I have has been helpful.

The only one I just can't stand is someone whos name ends in 88.....wonder who that is. He is pretty clueless....and does not really know what he thinks he knows....a true youtube expert....pretty popular and that is a worry to me.....this kind of guy needs to just go away.
Please elaborate what you mean. No offense, but I don't think you know what you're talking about. Eric's channel is everything that posts #13, #20, and #29 described. He's proven his worth.

My favorite is the Jerry Miculek channel.
Anybody know anything about his health lately? He was posting videos very regularly (multiple per month), did that for a long time but hasn't done a single one in 8 1/2 months. Just wondering.

Iraqveteran8888? Probably the most intelligent of the gun channels. Considering he actually is a gun smith from Senora, which is a top gun smith program.

Hickock45, YankeeMarshall, tnoutdoors9, Shootingthebull410, and Gunblast are all other good channels that I follow. NutNFancy and stuff like that are just idiots with guns and cameras.

He knows everything....just ask him.

I can't stand him....but different strokes for different folks.

I would not let him change the air in my lawn mower tire much less touch a gun that I own....or one that I did not own if I could say...hay let this chimp over here do it....I think he might know a little more.

True....My issue with him is he is quick to damn something with no real experience in that area. We went round and round on a french rifle he damned.....A surplus gun he really knew nothing about...he is really a legend in his own mind.

Who do you think he is a fanboy of? LMT? Thats the company he usually praises the most, but he says because he has worked for them and knows how they operate as far as quality/quality/control. I have a hard time calling him a "fan boy" because he also worked for Colt and did a not so flattering video on the Expanse basically saying its not a real colt. He seems to tell it like it is IMO

No it was video concerning pistols and his versions of the facts were basically quoted from Wikipedia..

So basically, he got a bad one and you got a good one? Is that the jest of it?

Close, he got a bad one and damned every french rifle ever made....made jokes about white flag garbage....on and on. I commented on it in gunboards and not long after the video was re edited.

He is a clueless clown where historic things go....I made it about half way past his Carcano "review"....and switched it off....he needs to stick to the pawn shop.

Larry Potterfield from MidwayUsa is fantastic. He reminds me of my dad. I can watch his videos all day.
I agree. The ones that irritate me the most are those (and there are a lot of them) who try and show you how to install or remove something on a gun and don't even have the proper tools. I've seen everything from allen wrench's to screwdrivers used as punches, improper screw drives, and pretty much every thing under the sun used. That's a good way to really screw up a gun.

If you like vintage guns, check out C&Rsenal. He does an amazing amount of research, and presents that in his videos. Only drawback is his videos run about 45 mins long.

I like Sootch, and his alter ego channel Sensible Prepper. He has addressed the issue of never bashing a product. It just isn't what he does. If he doesn't like a product, he just won't post a review of it. What I like about his channels is that tends to focus on things that might actually happen in reality, not this stupid zombie crap.

The other one I like is Yankee Marshall. I don't care much for his male anatomy and other vulgar references, but he has got me liking handguns again where I have been interested in them in decades.

Forgotten Weapons and InRange are the same two guys. I like the a lot better than TFBTV.

How many of you guys donate money to the youtube posters you like?

C&Rsenal is a great channel....I like it as they really get into the history and background of the specific items.....check out his review of the Ross....great background info.

And Forgotten weapons is also great....again no bashing just down right facts on this and that....and no stupid crap like how far will a 22 kill. Just stupid.

You realize these people get paid per view. The popular ones can rake in a pretty good living.
There are plenty of revenue calculators out there to estimate income per 1000 views.
Least one Gun person ranks in the top earners on youtube.
i.e.

FPSRussia - $1.3 million
5,226,203 million total subscribers
595,205,330 million total views

That is substantially more than I make working for a living. :)

You should really watch his videos of what guns he personally owns. He owns far more milsurps than modern firearms. I am fairly certain he is well qualified. I have personally met Eric and he knows his stuff. Maybe you should start your own gun channel if you feel like you are better at the job.

Here is an older one.

Well, since its been brought up here, I'll throw in my .02..

Sootch00 - They way he talks about products seems mind-numbingly elementary. I'll just read fhe spec-sheet myself, thanks. It also seems like he reviews things just to review them, and that he does not pay for himself. I understand it sometimes takes sponsors, but one reason I like nutnfancy is that he actually buys almost everything he reviews. Sootch00's videos on locally-made botique AR and Glock stuff annoy me. Not one video by Sootch00 makes me feel like I invested my time wisely.

TiborasaurusRex is awesome. I LOVE his Shooting 101 series. Long-winded at times, but the content is unparalleled. His off-topic videos are his own deal. They don't interest me so I don't watch them.

IV8888 is ok. And who doesn't like a Hickok45 video every now and then. Honestly Id rather he spend less time shooting close targets and more time on the gongs - but whatever.

Here is one of my favorites up loaded by fella from Greece.... It starts at about 1:00 minutes

TiborasaurusRex and Forgotten Weapons are fun to watch and seem to be great sources of info. Ginsboy2003 does great AK build videos as does USMCdoc14. Ammosmith reloading for...reloading videos. The Ammo Channel does some interesting stuff with handloading and also builds, scrap metal AK build, belt-fed 762x54r, etc. Mrgunsandgear does pretty good reviews while keeping it short. Nutnfancy tends to be long winded but I still like his vids. Fortunecookie45lc is one I sub to also. Just a regular guy who does a lot of casting vids.

Never was a fan of TFBTV. Not sure why but watching them talk always made me cringe a bit and I could never sit through a whole video. Not really a fan of YankeeMarshall either. I dont find him funny or really all that informative.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Carnik Con. More informative than Yankee Marshal, infinitely less annoying than Nut Infancy. It is in American English so you can expect strongish language, if that matters to you. I guess the guy making them stopped due to health reasons but the videos are pretty good for the money.

  • C&Rsenal - Some of the finest historical videos on military firearms I've ever seen. They NEVER disappoint.
  • Forgotten Weapons - The same quality as C&Rsenal, albeit usually much shorter.
  • Hickock45 - Some of the best gun reviews I've seen.
  • TAOFLEDERMAUS - Wonderfully goofy testing of unconventional shotgun projectiles. The Chinese kid who sends them projectiles to test will probably be [at least] a millionaire some day.

Typically I like Hickok45, TheYankeeMarshall, and Forgotten Weapons. I have others that I'll watch if they show up in a search but those three I'm subscribed to and try to watch most of their videos as they come out.
