I'm looking for a reasonably priced OWB holster, preferably kydex, for my 3" LCRx. So far the only ones I've found are the Ruger/Mitch Rosen rig and several choices from Simply Rugged. Unfortunately, both are in the $80 range. I'm wanting to stay sub-$50, and the lower the better but am having 0% luck. Ditto Kydex to keep it as light and water resistant as possible, but I'll do leather if necessary.

Any suggestions? Btw, I'm a lefty.

Thanks,
Q

Sub $50 usually means nylon which is typically not a good holster material.

I did a quick search of the kydex usual suspects that I normally recommend and I couldn't find anything as low as $50. Around $75 seems to be the typical floor for decent kydex. You are also hurt by a less than common gun, which I suspect is not often carried in OWB kydex holsters.

On the good side, being a lefty isn't a big deal unless you are planning on searching the big box sporting goods stores for them. Everybody that makes a holster for your gun will most likely make a lefty version. Good luck.

Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

After a bit of googling i found a site called alabama holster that offers kydex owb holsters starting at 65 dollars for the lcrx. they do not specify the barrel length but it is listed separately from the lcr.

I bit the bullet and bought the Mitch Rosen last summer for my "3 LCRx .38 because it was the only one I could find at the time that was made just for that model. It's a decent holster, light and durable, and works as intended but I have holsters that were $30 - $40 less expensive that are just as good. It's a good CC holster for me and also fits my LCR .327 Mag.
