Should I or shouldn't I?

Will you regret it if you don't get it? Can you get your money back out of it if later you decide to sell it? Those are the questions I ask myself when on the fence with a gun purchase.

Since its not my money, I say definitely buy it! But Gunny's question of "can you get your money back out of it" is the number one thing I ask myself when doubting a firearm purchase.

No need to spend $1000 if you don't have to. Old well used fixed choke gun will not be easy to move if you try to sell it.

Guess I'd pass. If your 73 years young and your gut is leaning toward's one way, its probably right. It sounds like your hitting them very nicely with what you've been using. If this doesn't help, refer to post #2. Good luck!

If you've got the funds for it and want a mate for your other Lightning, then I would say do it. But if you were looking for improving on your 1100 and Model 12 skeet guns then I would say pass.

Awhile back I bought a really nice mint condition Superposed M/F at a time when I had other shotguns that I shoot very well. Why? Because I wanted it. I shoot it occasionally, don't shoot clays as well as I shoot my Benelli Competition 12ga, but I love shooting it when I do. Taking it to the dove field tomorrow even though I have a Remington 870 that fits me like a glove and I shoot doves with it very well. And yet, I love the Browning. Go figure. BTW....don't low ball good buy....maybe offer $900....none of my business of course, but having sold many guns, I don't like lowball offers.

I'd try to go the $850; seems to be about what I see them for around here. I've always liked Superposed more than Citoris.

Of course Bluebook %age ratings are debatable which adds to the fun. I got my Lightning for $850 and figure this one is about equal in condition.
As I'm going away for a few days, someone may buy it and end my "suffering".

Sounds like you have a good plan and a fair offer in mind. The seller will be OK with that offer...I would be.. Here's what I was talking about when I said I don't like low ball offers. I was selling a shotgun for $800__it was worth every penny. A guy called and talked for awhile, asked to come look at it, said he was interested. He looked at it for several minutes and began picking at every tiny flaw, even nonexistent ones. He then says, "Well, what's your offer?" I said I already made one, $800, and suggested he make an offer. He said, "$300". I took the gun, put it back in the cabinet, and told him to quit wasting my time. He indignantly said, "well, make me a counter offer." So, I told him the gun is now $1,000. and that I would never sell it to him. He left in a huff. It was worth it for the laugh. BTW, I sold that gun the next day for $800 + I threw in 2 boxes of shells and a nice gun case. The guy was tickled to get a really nice shotgun and was delighted when I threw in the gun case, which I did after he paid for the gun. I like making deals and I love making good deals where everyone is happy.

The problem of course is that you don't shoot enough!!

Only if you think you will regret not buying it a few months from now, and somebody else have purchase it.

Good move. I always loved an 1100 for Skeet over anything else.

that offer of 300.00 for a asking price of 800.00 was not a low ball, it was a insult and you treated it better than I would have. eastbank.

I just paid 1300 at Cabela's for a nice lightning field grade. I think for
around a 1000 you can get your money back or close to it. They are
nice solid guns from the old school.
