Politicians pulling guns at public events

Typical campaign showboating. I just hope he trusts his constituents with their guns.
I was more concerned about his difficulty getting the gun back in his pocket.

That's a new one on me. Not a fan of that behavior.

Not a good look, IMO.

I've never seen anything like it, but I also just started looking through some Roy Moore quotes and brandishing that gun is one of the least offensive things I've come across.

Preferable to a candidate whose stance is for "commonsense" gun control, AWB, mag limits, ect..

Watching him whip that little wheel gun out like it was a damp handkerchief* and flag half the audience I'm reminded of the phrase, "With friends like this, who needs enemas?"

Egads.

Our sheriff went on tv with a 12ga and said the small store and gas station robberies were going to stop. The deputies were going to be rotating in the stores setting behind the one way mirrors. He racked the action and said " they will blow your head off."

I don't have time to go through the whole video, can anyone post the time the he actually pulls out the gun?

Roy Moore is the worst thing to come to politics since TV broadcasting. Which is probably why AL will vote for him. Politic wise this state is 100 years behind in their politician choices.

Alabama did vote for him. These days the Republican primary pretty well picks national office.

Alabama was the closest thing I ever had to a home state (we were army brats -by the time I was 12 I'd lived in five different countries..). For me Alabama was my teenage years (1960 to 1968, when I went in the service myself...) and I still have familty there.

Something I remember clearly is that folks from that part of the country will stand up for their beliefs - even when it hurts... and sometimes things can get a bit painful... Judge Moore's willingness to stand up for what he believes cost him dearly - but folks in that state approve of such things...

I'm not a fan of anyone taking firearms lightly - if I were a voter in that state his gun waving would have cost him my vote... I suspect that our president might have preferred someone with a willingness to compromise a bit to actually get something done... Only time will tell on that regard... When I was in high school I got to meet the governor (all those years ago...), that was George Wallace - another politician who stood up for what he believed in.... no matter how wrong he was.. - but he was a Democrat.... After he was shot and paralyzed while running for President he changed his mind about a few things and actually did a 180 on segregation, if you can believe it...

Alabama's a fine state to raise a family in - and in towns like Huntsville there's always work to be found... it' s just way too far from the Everglades where I spend my days...

Seems to me that if I was gonna show a "hey look at this idiocy", and it was a hour and a half long video, I'd say, "It happens at 58:32 (or whatever)", so people wouldn't have to watch a 98 minute campaign speech.

Ok, go to 1:24. He's talking about some kind of attack ads calling his record on the 2nd Amendment. He says, "I believe in the 2nd Amendment," and pulls out a little J-frame, waving it around like a dead fish.

I like Roy Moore, and Alabama is probably the best state in the Union with possible exception of Texas.

I voted for Judge Moore....but I do think the gun was a stunt and unwise. Luther Strange may be good on 2A issues, but he's a corrupt liar and I don't want him even as dogcatcher.
Say what you will about Moore having been removed from the bench twice for not going along with SCOTUS decisions on 10 commandments and gay marriage, but ask yourself; do you think Moore in the Senate will flip flop on issues?
If you say no, you "get" why Alabamians like him.

Texas has a Wild West gunfighter reputation, but it will be a (political) "battleground" state sooner than people realize. It is getting bluer and bluer by the minute:

Moore has national visibility, and is not doing any favors for our cause by brandishing a weapon. All that does is provide more "ammunition" (ironically) for the antis about the "unsafe loons that own guns".

When he was just a troublemaker on the Alabama Supreme Court, I didn't.

Now that he's a U.S. Senator, what he does in Washington can potentially impact me anywhere in the country.
