I'm glad so many tried this thing at its bargain price...gotta wonder if it will go any lower?
If so, I think I might snag a cast Iron version...now that I have a little cart to wheel the whole "shooting match" around at the range.

Well you guys broke me. Weighing the options I figured at my level (non-competition/scope verification) the aluminum triangle with windage top would be all I really need. Order placed and thanks to all for the information, reviews, and pictures.

I was pleasantly surprised at work today when I saw mine was out for delivery. Just after dinner the UPS driver gave a knock and delivered a well packaged marvel. Mark me down as impressed.

The only downside I see now is having one less excuse for my group size.

I hate you guys

Starting the count down clock on my resistance level......ready....go!

Mr. Flair...YOU NEED ONE!!! My only regret is not ordering a front bag as both the Caldwell and Protektor models I own are slightly wide (I removed some sand to make them fit), but I will remedy my error once hunting season ends.

I've spent the past few weeks upgrading equipment from scopes and rings to action work and really excites me is knowing every one of those rifles will benefit from a single purchase that allows me to dial them all in with ease. Tick tock...tick tock...

I bought a basic Sinclair rest a few months back ($220 I think) and yesterday I bought a Sinclair Gen 3 bipod.

Now I see this today.

Shipping was fast.

It has no wiggle or slop when everything is tightened down, it's nice and stable, the adjustments are smooth, and it appears to be very well made. Jury is out on the windage adjustment until I actually use it at the range. Gotta fill the bag and attach it. I should get a chance to use it this weekend.

Did you get this from Bullets.com? Are you happy with the rest?

We all bought from bullets.com, I’d like to think everyone was satisfied with the rests, I know I am. I did see a banner on the website announcing they are going out of business but I don’t anticipate anything breaking (ever) on this thing. At 45 years of age I imagine this being the last rest I’ll ever need to buy. Actually tempted to pick up a second one for head-to-head shooting with the kids.

Well dang! I will give them a call tomorrow or Monday and make sure everything is still selling before I submit a credit card. I am going to start shooting my first matches this summer and this thing will do nicely. Thanks a bunch for the info on it. $ is tight right now and this is a hard pill to swallow but I cant see showing up to a match with sand bags.

What bag did you get with this?

I had a set of Protektor bags already and meant to buy the Bald Eagle Sporter model (narrow) but don’t see it listed anymore. Which bags will depend on your forearm width, I believe the rifle must be liftable vertically in competition, and the shape of the buttstock will determine what you need there as well. I don’t shoot competition but perhaps a PM to one of the more knowledgeable members on your set-up can get you better answers.

Better hurry Bullets.com is closing it's doors I bought the aluminum rest and bolted it too a 1/2" SS plate I never moves

The owner has said the rests and other items wills till be available at Grizzly.com.

These sale prices have been the same for months. Hopefully they will stay that way at Grizzly.

But yea, they are a good deal and worth picking up.

I can't think of the last time I didn't see the Bald Eagle rests "on sale" at bullets.com. Years... It'd be like buying a car full price - nobody pays the sticker.

I may switch the adjustment to the left side and put the handle directly on the adjusting shaft, doing away with the linkage. I considered getting the rest without it entirely, but figured I could always mod it or remove it.
Modded the windage.

I have the the same model. My mod was to convert it to left hand. I kind of like the cable. And I did get the rounded bag for my rest. Used kitty litter just to fill it. Thought about rice and heavy sand. But for now this will work IMG_20180320_204527.jpg

Thank you ! If it doesn't work as nicely as I hope then there is always the option of mounting it the way you have yours. (Left handed of course). Now to find a bag or crate or box to carry it in.

Walkalong shared a pic of his box that looked interesting.

Made from 1 by 12 pine boards. Used a router bit to do the little shelves.

I think it is on the Protektor site, you can buy a nice bag of black sand. Even after filling two small bags for my Bald Eagle, I still have a nice "Bag" suitable for raising my rear bag if necessary!

Okay, the rest is very cool, but I have to ask: What's its value to someone who is not into bench rest shooting? I have shot off inexpensive Caldwell rests, bipods, sand bags, and even my back pack. I don't doubt that the Bald Eagle is top drawer, but why would I "need" one? Not picking a fight here ... just trying to understand.
