If you have a better spot, why are you messing with the farm where two guys were monkeying around right by your stand?
Cause as I suspected that spots screwed also. Drove there tonight and truck parked along woods and drove to an old gas well road and there's a blind at the top of the road. have to walk past the blind to get to the woods and no clue wheee the other person is. It's opening weekend so everyone becomes a bow hunter then disappears. Going tomorrow evening then all week after work.

Things tend to change over time. A couple of weeks ago I came across an elaborate ground blind just quarter of a mile from my property, placed strategically next to one of the paths between the fields the deer like to feed at and mine, which is essentially a major bedding area for whitetail, roe deer and moose. Fortunately the hunting pressure is very low compared to game population in the area, but the shooting direction from the blind is directly towards my house, even though there's a small hill in between. The problem is that one of my ladder stands is on top of that hill.
The blind not on my property so my options are limited. The land is owned by a foundation that doesn't seem to have a contact person I could ask about it. I haven't heard shots but we're only five weeks into the whole 5-month whitetail season now and it's usually early November after the first snowfall when blind hunting shifts into high gear. I've hunted the area since early 90's and whoever built the blind is obviously oblivious to geographical and ballistic factors involved. Unless they bow hunt the ricochet risk is substantial. I'll probably have print out a copy of the map of property lines and leave it along with a note inside the blind, reminding them to be careful and consider the direction of shots they may take.

Well now I have several other yahoo's to deal with. Found a ladder stand, camera and bait pile right on the main path in and out of the woods so figured I would be nice and leave a note introducing myself and letting him know because he put his stuff right on the edge of the path I would need to walk past his setup to get to my stand to call me and lets talk.
I get a text asking if I have permission, who signed it, who was with me as he got pics of us, where my stands are? I told him I had permission and he says well the farmers brother doesn't know you and said his brother didn't give you permission. We went back and forth for an hour and he says hes talking to the landowner cause they don't like intruders.

I'm not but I said yes because these guys really get upset when non hunt club members hunt these farms. The guy tells me another farm we both hunt had non members in there and he told them to pack their sh... and get the f... out! He starts going on and on about how he will throw anyone out that's not a member, if he finds a tree stand he's sitting in it.
I'm going today to knock on some doors cause I have to get away from these idiots.

If you have written permission, you don't have a concern unless the guy talks the landowner into taking it back. I wonder why the brother of the landowner thinks he has any right to say who hunts his brother's land? Sounds like he's just trying to bully you off the property, a tactic that has probably worked for him before.
Again, another attempt at intimidating someone to leave. Over the years, many was the time I've had folks tell me straight faced I was trespassing......when in truth I was on my own property, or on property owned by family/friends where I had permission. Many times those folks were neighbors who just wanted to keep folks away. Sometimes it was folks that had permission in the past to hunt there and had not talked to the previous landowner for years....and did not realize the property had changed hands, or that the landowner did not realize those folks were still using his property(because they hadn't asked for a long time). This is why folks need to contact the landowner every year, before hunting season. One cannot assume they have permission year after year or assume it's alright to take others along. Just as one cannot assume they are the only one the landowner has given permission to.
As for calling the other's idiots....they may very well be, or they may just be jerks. They also may be talking about you the same way. If they too have permission to hunt those properties, they are probably just as upset as you are. Thing is, they, like you, have to deal with it in a adult and responsible manor. Communicate when and where you will be hunting. Respect their area, even on days when they are not there and ask they do the same. Odds are if you hunt well, and they are idiots, they may drive more deer your way than not. Part of expecting others to provide you with a place to hunt is dealing with others like you......folks wanting a great place to hunt, all by themselves, for nuttin'.
You don't want to deal with others like you, you need to get your own property or endear yourself to landowners in a way that will keep others out. That means either paying for the privilege or repaying the favor in kind.
I don't mine sharing at all and hunted this farm with one other guy who we had an agreement of where I was and where he was and he told me he would stay away from my setup and I too his. I'm thinking this other guy seen the path my brushhogged through the crp to funnel the deer to my 2 stands from the bedding area and fields and said hmmm, ive got 7 days until bow opener let me go buy a ladder stand, camera, salt block, corn and slap that stand up in a tree that's only about 8" diameter with my camera looking through the steps, all the white wrappers attached to the ladder and face it towards the path that I cut. I have no issue with that but to me that's an idiot! I tried to be nice and say hey you got some pics of me, this is who I am, call me and lets talk. His response was thanks for leaving notes on my stand, I appreciate that! Do you have permission to be here? I showed the owners brother your pics and he said he doesn't know you. we aren't happy about intruders! I replied I do have permission and have for the last 4yrs, do you guys have permission? I got pics of 2 guys messing around by my camera? His reply was-I do and I have been here 5yrs. The brother signs for me every year. I have 2 ladder stands out here and one for many, many years that someone put a stand up 30yards from. I said not mine I know where that stand is and I'm far from it and my other stands been there 18yrs passed on from another hunter who helped me get into that farm. I said look, I'm not trying to argue, be rude, etc. we both hunt here and I figured I would let you know who I was, when I hunt and where so we don't mess each other up. your stuff popped up a week before opening day so I didn't know what was going on. His response-so long as you really do have permission there wont be any issues.
I always offer to help the landowners and get told no thanks. I don't make enough money to lease, buy land, etc. My camera went from 10pics a day for weeks to them messing around by it and no deer pics for 8 days so yes I'm a little pissed cause an adult possible deleted my card or sabotaged my area. we have a county hunt club that the president goes around, knocks on doors and asks to hunt and the farmers hate the deer so say yes. they have 2 counties all locked up as far as land as a lot of these farmers own 2-6 different parcels throughout the county so its hard to not run into them.
You keep saying people like me? what exactly are people like me? I get my slip signed every year, take the farmer a fresh pie, send Christmas cards, stop and talk when I see them out, etc. now the club guys think because there is a little white sign on the telephone pole they can just hunt it and treat everyone else that doesn't want to pay $400year, be forced to attend monthly meetings or get booted and sell $100 in gun tickets or pay for them yourself then they can treat me however they want.
Would I like exclusive rights? heck yeah, who wouldn't? do I mind sharing these farms? only when someone decides that hes too lazy or some kind of tough guy that's going to sit in my stands, pull my camera cards, and curse me up, down, sideways from Thursday because I'm not part of their cult, I mean club.
. Ive come out of the woods and had my truck blocked in by other hunters, cursed at cause I squirrel hunted a farm and it was during the rut so I shouldn't be out there and now this. I just needed to vent a little and I figured my fellow hunters would be good people to vent too. guess not.

Pretty sure I would confront somebody squirrel hunting on a property I was hunting during the rut. I mean that's just not cool....
Once again that's the I'm a club member i don't have to ask permission mentality. We checked the farm house and fields and no cars or trucks and Ohio's rut is generally from Halloween-2nd week of November. this guy was out there like end of thanksgiving week. when we tried to explain to him that we checked the house, barn, etc. and didn't see a car but he wanted to yell and curse at us and then flipped when he found out we weren't club members and got written permission. When asked where he parked he said the next farm over. these guys don't even know who owns what. The guy last week said the lady in the house next to the field signed for him and i told him shes not the owner he needs to go to the actual farm and get permission. He didn't care cause its a club farm.

as I said before ......
As long as you are expecting someone else to provide a spot for you to hunt, you are probably going to have to share and/or deal with others. Those others may not want to share and may even do all they can to drive you away and spoil your hunt. Finding a place to hunt deer on private property is difficult at best in most areas of our country. Not wanting to,or not having the resources to pay for your own, means you will have to deal with things beyond your control. We know you are just venting.....but in my opinion, it has turned from venting to whining.
No reason to lower yourself to the level of others. Besides, it would be destruction of private property and illegal. I don't see this forum supporting illegal activities.

Well looks like I've got more cry baby whining to do! Went out to the new farm I got this summer that the guy last week told me he threw non club members out of to check camera cards. As I'm walking the path between corn and woods I notice a truck parked on the edge of the woods so I keep walking looking for my camera that was off a main deer trail leading to a big thicket. I walked past the truck and then came back and said please tell me this guy isn't parked by my camera and area I prepped for a run and gun setup for tomorrow and Saturday! I walked around the truck and sure enough there is my camera with this truck pulled off into the brush right with the drivers door on the path. This used to be a little hole in the trees and weeds the deer would almost have to duck to go through and now looks like they rode their atv right through there. My camera was a total of 10ft away from the truck! 11 days and not one single pic of a deer but I do have a 630am pic of what looks like someone shining a light at the camera so it doesn't take their pic.
My guess is this truck is being parked here throughout the week and diverting the deer away. I am leaving work tomorrow evening and all this weekend will be spent knocking on doors that have 0 to do with this club!

It's fairly simple to unscrew the valve core -- when you do that, the tires go flat.
I almost left a note saying thanks for parking in the middle of the woods and messing up the area. Next time park at the gate please but I figured he the bigger person and leave it. There is a gas road between the woods and standing corn and I get a ton of pics on the trail and gas road and he's parked right where they come and go. Either he's lazy and won't walk, doing it purposely or just an idiot! I thought as I was slipping through the woods and checking the camera I heard someone say you gotta be kidding me so I stopped and looked around and didn't see anyone. I was already 1:4mile from the truck so no way I was walking back without changing cards. Stands with salt blocks are like 150yards from where I was unless he was sonegwre else
Been a public guy for 15yrs and got private 3-4yrs ago and never an issue other than gun week the club member drive around and hunt without permission. I'm usually south anyways but did get screwed by them a few times driving woods. never had one issue until this year.

No where did the OP state that he knew for positive the truck was another hunter. Could have been the landowner, flattening his tires would have really endeared hunters to him I bet. Could be the county agent, forester or a surveyor. Any other hunter with permission to hunt the property has a right to be there. Again another suggestion of doing something illegal just out of spite. Not a real good example of hunter ethics.
Sometimes we just need to move on, find another spot and regroup our loses. Doesn't matter if it's public land or private land with ready access. If it's a hassle or downgrading the quality of our hunt where it is no longer fun, we need to findwhere else to go, or something else to do. I personally would rather hunt a spot where my odds of success are low, as to deal with a bunch of jerks.
Landowner drives a Honda Accord. This truck was definitely a hunter cause it had hunt stickers on the bumper. I'm going this weekend finding other spots cause I can't keep doing this.

Glad I don t have these issues on the farm I hunt. Offered to help out,farmer is going on vacation in a week. Said he may take me up on it to help his son out while away. The hunting is great,but mostly I enjoy good conversation with the landowner and his son. They are nice people and the stories and tales of past hunts and the farms history are priceless.
