What was the first semi auto handgun you ever shot, and what was the first one you purchased?

Colt 70 Series 1911 LWC in .45ACP. I bought it at the local pawn shop, looked new. Made in 1973/74 time frame. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, but improved greatly with practice. I still have it in my safe.

You know, I'm not sure what the first semi-auto pistol I shot was... may have been either a Ruger or High Standard .22, I don't remember exactly. First semi-auto pistol I bought was a S&W 645. I still have it...

First Semi-auto that I shot was a 1911 Colt Officer's Model. Couldn't hit a thing with it. My friend emptied a magazine and loaded 6 of the rounds into a moon clip and let me shoot his 1917 45ACP revolver, now that I could hit with.
First one I ever bought was called a TU-90. Similar to a Tokerov in 9mm. Still have the add from Shotgun news that I found it in. Sold the pistol years ago. Serial # was 1999.

1st shot, Glock 23.

1st bought, Glock 23.

Bought it before I ever shot a handgun. Out of all my handguns it is still my favorite. Soon I'll have the Glock 19 to give the 23 company.

Not exactly sure about the first semi-auto handgun I ever shot. That was many decades ago. But my best guess would be a 1911 in Nov. 1969 going through Infantry Training Regiment in the Marine Corps. I remember that one well. First semi-auto handgun I ever purchased was S & W Model 41 .22 cal. target pistol in the spring of 1974 and about a year later I foolishly sold it and have regretted it ever since.

[QUOTE="tactikel, post: 10681154, member: 96519"You never forget your first.[/QUOTE]

LOL ... I've been thinking about this pretty hard, and I actually almost forgot my first. It was a 1911, which would have been 33 years ago this coming March.

I do remember my first one purchased on my own, which was a Ruger P89. Lordy, that was one beefy handgun. The grip had the ergonomics of a softball, at least in my hands.

First semi I shot was a Gen1 Glock 17.

First semi purchase was a Colt Commander.

First I ever shot was a Ruger Mark something-or-another (I don't remember which mark it was). First I ever bought was a CZ 83.

Ruger Mk 1 Target .22 with 6 7/8 in. heavy tapered barrel. Bought new in 1976, barrel stamped "Made In The 200TH Year Of American Liberty ". I put a set of Ruger thumb rest walnut grips on it, and I still own and love it.

The first one I ever shot was a GI 1911 in 1964.
The first one I ever bought was a FS 9mm S&W M&P in 2010.

My father preferred revolvers (though he had an unfired Hi Power, which I have since fired extensively), so the first semi-auto I shot was the first semi-auto that I purchased: A W. German SIG P220 in .45 ACP.

First one i shot was a S&W 9mm of some sort. I was a young teenager and a family friend was a police officer, it was his.

First one I bought was a EAA Witness in 9mm. Then I realized I didn't like it nearly as well as the 1911's i was using. So I sold it and have stuck with the latter ever since. That's been a few decades now.

Sorry I'm late to the party here, my loss. The first handgun I ever fired in my life was a 44 Auto Mag. Like a true ignoramus, I wore no hearing protection. I only shot one round since it made my ears ring, then I handed it back to the owner who shot the remaining rounds the magazine. I can recall quite clearly the owner desperately looking around to pick up all the brass we fired. And now as a hand loader, I totally understand why!

I do have a slight ringing in my ears currently, although I cannot say as to whether shooting that pistol caused it or not, or even contributed to it. I don't think so.

The first pistol I ever bought was a Ruger Mk I Target (T678) which I still have.

The first semi-auto pistol that I ever fired was the first one that I ever bought. It was a 1977 Ruger Standard with 4 3/4 “ barrel. I got a box of CCI .22LR and a Hunter 1100 Series leather holster with it. I saved up the money for it from hauling hay.

I bought it at Mr. Bierbaum’s Firestone store. The background check was that Mr. Bierbaum called my mother and asked her if it was okay.

I still have it and still shoot it. I still carry it in the same holster. I love that little pistol.

First shot a 25 Galesi that my father bought in the 80's from an old lady that my grandmother was taking care of.
First purchased was a Browning Buckmark Camper around 02.
