I have a full size 320 in 45acp and it works flawlessly

Just curious, what was the part or parts that failed?

I sold my 30s to buy the P320 45 compact. The P320’s been great. Better ergonomics for me, I shoot it more accurately and I’ve had no malfunctions. To be fair, the 30s was a great gun. The grip just didn’t work for me.

I was doing a test run for competition in a gun club on a brand new Gen 3 Glock 23. Drew from my holster and the magazine catch sheered off, dropping the magazine. Glock refused to replace or refund the firearm claiming non standard ammunition was being used. Except it hadn't been fired. Fortunately the gun store replaced it at a huge discount for a Glock 22. So the club wasn't out any money. Still left a bad taste in my mouth for Glocks to this day.

Glocks are fine guns, but I've had more malfunctions with Glocks than I have had with my SIG. Still, those can only be counted on one hand.

That said, the p320 does everything, for me, better than any Glock I have owned. I like how it shoots, how it fits in hand, how it breaks down for cleaning, and how their is no dingus on the trigger.

I only have it in 9mm, but when the poly .45 bug bites again (and it will), it'll probably be a choice between an FNX-45 or a 320 in .45. I'm leaning heavily toward the 320 simply because it can be modified to do whatever is needed from a carry standpoint.

I was in no way a SIG fanboy before the 320. The 226 cost too much and I just couldn't warm up to the 250. When I gave the 320 a try I was converted right there. Pair it with the upgraded trigger, and I really don't feel the need for another polymer pistol in my stable...for now.

I really like the gun and it's accurate but I have been to a few forums and have read similar stories.
It's a gun and the pieces that failed are just .99 plastic junk. I have many guns and none have failed as much as this one. In fact I have 2 Ruger S-A one 65 yrs old and it has never failed and one 28 yrs old and never a problem, my 1911 would shoot dirt. LOL!
What if I was being held up or attacked and needed it for self defense? I just like different brands is all.

Spring cups are aftermarket parts, no?

I am not sure what you mean by sleeve, bur if it was a magazine or grip sleeve then, again, aftermarket part.

My G30 was always flawless in operation, just the design meant that the 10 round mags pinched my pinkys so I eventually dumped it.

I am looking forward to feedback if you get the 320 compact as it has also interested me as a compact .45 option (current is s 3" 1911 for when the full size is too big)

What do ya mean aftermatket? The spring cups hold the spring to the firing pin, the sleeve is a piece of plastic inside the slide that guides the firing pin.
As far as the mag I have a 13 round so my hand fits comfortably.
I like it but just don't trust it.

Ever consider a revolver for woods carry? 686 or gp100 are nice guns. To much for ccw ,but great for woods walking. Can find nice used ones for 500-550 around here.

I know this is the auto forum, but I'm with Bones, I always carry a revolver in the woods, if I have a FTF, I just pull the trigger again and bang. I do love my auto's, but have had stove pipes and FTF's occasionally with all of them.

It seems amazing how many revolver folk haven't had a cylendar bind up on a revolver. Guess I'm unlucky.

The ONLY time I had a revolver tie up was when I did not crimp the bullet in at all to see if it would work on 38 SPL+P+ using REM brass. This has been over 30+ years and countless rounds down the pipe both factory and reloads. With pistols not such good luck with any of them in the dependability area. I am sure others have had entirely different experiences but those are my personal observations. YMMV

For me, only on new revolvers that had some little flaw from the factory or black powder guns that would foul the works up in a few cylinders worth of shooting. On the smokeless revolvers, once the factory kinks were worked out, all has been good so far.

What was the round count when the parts let loose?

A few guys I shoot with are Glock fanatics with several Glocks over 15,000 rounds and never a failure those parts.
