I'n looking for a replacement carry for my Taurus PT111 G2. After looking around it seems the Walter PPQ or a Glock 19 seems like a good replacement (yes they are slightly bigger) but I want a more accurate pistol and I have no problem at all with the G2 concealing it. For the record My G2 has been great but and accuracy is minute of bad guy by that I can group 3-4 inchs at 10 yards but somehow it takes three or four shots to hit a water bottle at that range.
I'm use to rifles and hitting what I'm aiming at not with in a few inches(yes i know apples to oranges). I have a friend with a Sig 229 and its night and day compared to the Taurus accuracy wise. I'm looking to stay with 9mm and at least a ten round mag where my whole hand can grip it. I can't stand the loose pinky grip. I have medium size hands not like Hickok45 which i watched his review on the PPQ. So any other ones I should be checking out?

Take a look at the Ruger SR9c. Though smaller then my Glock 19, I find it to be just as accurate and it ergonomics makes it feel like a bigger gun. It conceals well and has a decent trigger and sights out of the box.

As always, YMMV.

Glock 19 and Walther PPQ are great choices from personal experience owning both though the Glock 19 would be easier to conceal because the height of the PPQ is 5.3 inches while the Glock 19 is 5.0 inches. You might want to check out the M&P 2.0 Compact also which is the same size as the Glock 19.

I had a Taurus PT111 Mil-Pro 3rd Generation with the DA/SA trigger. I found accuracy to be about average compared to other 9mm. guns I have. The trigger was okay in DA but in SA it felt a little mushy and had quite a bit of over travel to it. I didn't really care for the sights as I had a tendency to pick them up low and then had to readjust my sight picture to get them on target. I eventually sold it and found a Ruger SR9c which I liked a great deal more. The trigger is great and the grip frame is more ergonomically designed compared to the PT111 and the sights are much easier and quicker to pick up and get on target with. Accuracy is very good as is reliability.

I also have a SIG P229 and while it's slightly larger than the SR9c both guns, with the right holster and belt, are very easy to carry concealed.

The trigger is weird. I shoot the gun more accurately in DA than SA. It is cool that the gun has second-strike capability but it seems that the price for that engineering is a strange feeling SA trigger.

The 10+ round capacity guns that are simlar in size are:

SCCY CPX-2
Caliber: 9mm
Barrel: 3.1 in
Length: 5.7 in
Height: 4.0 in (without mag extensions)
Width: 1.0 in
Weight: 15.0 oz
Capacity: 10+1 Rounds

Kel Tec PF-11
Caliber: 9mm
Barrel: 3.1 in
Length: 5.6 in
Height: 4.3 in
Width: 1.0 in
Weight: 14 oz
Capacity: 10+1 Rounds

Taurus Millennium G2 PT111
Caliber: 9mm
Barrel: 3.28 in
Length: 6.24 in
Height: 5.1 in
Width: 1.22 in
Weight: 22.0 oz
Capacity: 12+1 Rounds

Glock 26
Caliber: 9mm
Barrel: 3.46 in
Length: 6.29 in
Height: 4.17 in
Width: 1.18 in
Weight: 19.75 oz w/o magazine
Capacity: 10+1 Rounds

Remember, Walther just came out with the PPQ sub-compact. And I've seen sales of the Walther P99c online around $350 if I recall.

Also, the Springfield XD models have been on a steep discount lately so there are always their options if you are ok with them

If you like everything except the accuracy of your PT111, find a Gen 1 M&P 9c.

It has almost exactly the same ergonomics and size as the PT111, can use full size M&P mags or the shorter 12 round compact mags.

I'll probably get a used Glock 26 eventually. I like my G43, but under a jacket or second shirt, I could just as easily carry a double stack. I ran across a Kel-Tec P11 for next to nothing. It works fine, but the trigger is horrible. I got a brand-new Taurus G2 for cheap. I'm picking it up today. If I don't like the trigger, I'll probably just trade the Kel-Tec and the Taurus to my friend at the LGS the next time he has a G26. If I do like the trigger, so much the better.

I have a PT 111 G2. I understand your not liking the trigger. It is the only thing about the gun I really dislike. If you watch Hickock 45's review on the G2 you will notice he shows that while the slide is roughly the same size as that of a G-26 the grip of the G2 is roughly the same length as a G-19. I don't think it would be particularly harder to conceal a 19 than it is the G2. I don't have any experience with them but I believe the Ruger Security 9 & the M&P 2.0 Compact pistols are also in this size range. I don't know your budget but I have been seeing the Rugers for around $300 shipped & the S&W M&P 2.0's I have seen from right at $400 on up to close to $500. You might have to dig around to find the best deal.

Well thank you all for all the suggestions! Some of those mentioned I didn't even think about like the FNS 9c and the M&P models. I remember shooting an M&P one over a year ago and was not to impressed but I can't remember why. Looks like I have a lot more research to do and then find a range were I can rent them.
G26 at first glance the grip was too small but I see they have a small extension for the mag so that might work.
Ruger SR9c this also look interesting.

I have small size hands but could never get comfortable with the Glock 26 grip size and shape. The Ruger SR9c fits my hand like a glove. Try them out if you have a chance (easy to do at a gun show), to see what works the best for you.

Oddly enough i have larger hands(xl gloves), and my sr9c fits my hands too. It has an adjustable backstrap .

Since the PT111 G2 has been "great", save your money and spend more time at the range with your G2 and your problem will be solved. The long trigger pull takes a lot of getting used to.

While that is probably true if I spent more time with it I would eventually get better but I'm going on about a thousand rounds through it and I'm not totally convince its just a trigger control issue. The G2 does what a carry gun should do and that's fire every time I pull the trigger and would stop a threat but I also like be able to shoot targets which I do more of and have it not look like a couple rounds of buck shot hit the target, plus I have some mad money saved up.

I've at one time or another owned most of the mentioned handguns in this thread and have settled on the XD mod 2 9mm subcompact as my main carry weapon with the CZ P01 being a close 2nd. 13+1 in a small package and extra 16rd mags on the belt is best I have found. YMMV.

Finally got out to a few place and got to hold all the was mentioned in this thread except for the H&k vp9 it seemed to be sold out at every shop I went to. The Walther PPQ has in my option a better feeling trigger. I wish one store would have had all of them so I could compare side by side .

I went a head and pulled the trigger on the Walther PPQ. It really felt good in my hands Once I get to shoot it I'll let everyone know how it compares to the pt111 g2.

One major issue is now I have to wait to work up new loads for the PPQ

I'' throw in another vote for the SR9c by Ruger. Have fun probably 3000 rounds through mine over the past 5 years with zero malfunctions. The trigger is fairly light which helps with range accuracy. Its an easy to shoot gun and they are fairly reasonably priced at $389-419 most places, and sometimes less
