Well I have this new shotgun coming. Stay tuned for the build.

Tried the federal 7 1/2 shot Target loads. Bought the 100 round box at walmart. I put 50 rounds through it without issue. Followed Remington customer service advice and polished the chamber after the 50 rounds and cleaning. Read jd's article on ai&p website on how to do it. Didn't try any buckshot but may one day next week to see if it's cured!

Fired 50 more rounds of federal target loads and all cycled fine. I tried 50 rounds of fiocchi buck shot and 6 stove pipes in 50 rounds. It's looking like I may have gotten a piece of crap and it needs to go back to Remington.

If you polished the chamber correctly, checked the extractor and ejector, and replaced (extractor) and adjusted (ejector) if necessary, I'm inclined to believe you are short stroking it.

And I might have missed it but did you shoot it before making any modifications? I'm inclined to think the mis-fires are induced by operator error.

Anyhow today i fired 40 rounds total out of it. 30 fiocchi low recoil 00 buck and 10 sellier and bellot 00 buck full powered loads. I had no malfunctions. I did spray the inside of the action down with a slight amount of lps 2 heavy duty lubricant and worked the slide a few times prior to firing. I don't know if that is what caused me not to have any malfunctions or not. I will say I'm thinking it's an ejector issue of some kind as out seemed to just barely kick the rounds out when I shot it this time.

Well, changing ejectors is a PITA, involves removing and replacing the rivets that hold them in. (the one design flaw in the 870, IMHO) Be sure you are working the pump with authority (you don't have to baby it) before you go playing with the ejector. Did you replace the extractor spring and plunger when you put the Non-MIM extractor in? It might be worth a try before deciding to do the ejector.

I have a mesa tactical Leo adapter with kynshot hydraulic recoil buffer in route. I caught them on sale. My question is which of the following two butt stocks would you all choose?

1. Magpul STR with Limbsaver precision fit pad
2. B5 bravo sopmod stock?

I'm leaning towards the Magpul str.

The Magpul, though as you saw, I went old school with the Speedfeed III. that's the third 870 that one's been on.

No I didn't change the extractor plunger and spring. Didn't think I needed to as they were new. The main reason I changed to the beveled nickle plated one from a marine magnum is because the mim extractor was scoring the reciever.
