Best Range Bag for the Money.

I went with an EMT med kit bag. Cost me a fraction of the cost and had far more pockets.. The Purple range bag I was looking at was $80 ish. I paid about $30 for my current bag. I have been using it about 4 years now going on 5..

15 dollar walmart backpack. Nothing special.

The Midway large bag when its on sale

Allen used to make a tough one but I have no idea if they still do. My daughter gave me one for Christmas years ago. I have no idea of how many trips it's made to the range and it's still as good as new.

I got one from Walmart 6-8yrs ago and still going strong. My NRA bag fell apart in 2 months.

I bought a Craftsman tool bag from Sears. Lots of compartments, many sizes and styles to choose from, sturdy construction... And not ridiculous shooting bag prices.

Anything that can handle a little weight will work. A tool bag is a great idea. I have the one from Midway, when On sale it is under $50 I think. I use it often and it has held up well.

I found a local store here that sold medical supplies. They had a large selection of bags and all kinds of stuff. They even offered me a military discount for being a vet!!! =D I would do a google search for places around you and check them out.

Also just had a thought. What type of bad you want also depends on how you pack it. If you are that person that puts everything in their range bag to include 50 pounds of ammo and 23 guns in it you may need something stronger than if you are just throwing your ear protection, some basic range tools, a stapler and some tape, as well as a few other odds and ends and keeps an ammo can for their ammo.. lol

I bought a Husky tool bag at Home Depot. Infinitely higher quality than any range bag of similar volume within $30.

Yes to the tool bag. And i like a gatemouth opening in the bag because when using for tools i just toss whatever i want in it and go.

I use a tool bag. Home Depot, or any hardware store. One advantage is that it doesn't LOOK like a range bag that has expensive guns in it if seen in your car. There are SOME who will steal tools, but more that would take guns.

This came up in another thread some time ago and someone suggested a diaper bag for the same reason. While the suggestion was meant to be funny there is some merit

I have both the Midway bags. The large is too big and gets loaded down, the compact is too small. And two bags finds something I want in the bag not with me. My Dillon was in between and about right, but it melted in The Incident.

I have a couple from LA Police Gear that I think are a pretty good balance between price and function. I took a look and it's the "Jumbo Bail Out Bag". $34.99.

A little pricey but a serious heavy duty range bag. I've been using mine for about 3 years and it's holding up just fine.

I have one of these. They look better in the pictures than in person, but for an inexpensive bag they’re ok as long as you don’t overload them.

For Christmas, my son got me one of the G.P.S large range bags. They’re in the price range of the better bags by Midway or 611 or similar bags. The quality seems really good. The thing I like most about it is the icons and dedicated storage places for all kinds of items. The GPS is well thought out, and makes for a very organized bag.

The icons allow me to check and make sure everything I need is in the bag before I go to the range, quickly. At the range they allow me to find thinks quickly. So it’s much more enjoyable.

Bottom line, a cheap bag will work but if you check out the GPS bags you may find they’re worth the money. FYI I say I’m frugal and look for value. IMHO the GPS bags are an excellent value, they’re not cheap, but for what you get they are an excellent value.

I have the compact Midway bag that I use when I take 3 or more people with me. When I go by myself or with my son, I take my small Beretta bag. It’s been a really good bag.

I use a $15 wal-mart backpack or one of the military-style bags like SharpDog posted; I have a couple like those I keep packed to throw in the car during hurricane season.
The long guns go into an Ibanez bass bag, because I currently live in an apartment that forbids guns in the lease and I'm not fond of a couple of my neighbors.
