Best Range Bag for the Money.

I have several Midway compact competition bags, when they are on sale for $29 or so good deal. They are ok for 1 person and 2 handguns kept in rags plus the other stuff you use. The full size Midway is huge but I think it's about $79 unless on sale. I use both of these, especially the compact for 4 years and no problems, both are holding up well with heavy useage. These are very popular at matches so that should say something.

Outside of that I have also won 3 range bags in the last 2 years. One was a Cabelas brand which sells for roughly $75 I gave that bag to a friend, actually hated to give it up because it's so nice and well made but a little too small for me. I usually transport at least 2 handguns sometimes 3.

Another bag I won is the full sized CED bag. That one costs about $100 well made and would last, I'm saving it for something not sure what.

Finally one is a Shooters Connection bag. I'm using this bag right now, a bit pricy $110 Big bag, lots of compartments and a removable inner bag that has a zipper top and shoulder strap. You can put guns or ammo in that inner bag. This one should last for years.

Range bags are like anything you get what you pay for. If your out shooting 1 or 2 times/week and carry a bunch of stuff an inexpensive bag will not last long.

I like my medium size GPS range bag. It is super sturdy. What I like best is that it has mini pictures of what belongs in each pocket. This makes things easier because I do not have to dig around trying to find my different gear. I just look at the little picture and if there is a picture of a stapler, I know my stapler is in that pocket. The picture of ear muffs contains my ear muffs. Etc.

I know this is probably beating a dead horse at this time... but Hazard Fraught... er... Harbor Freight has their little tool bag on sale right now for like $5. And, I actually LIKE to use these little tool bags as range bags. Each gun gets its own bag with its magazines, accessories, and ammo. Ear protection is always in my pocket, and eye protection is in every vehicle, so not much other stuff to put in the range bag. I might have three range bags on any given outing, but that is what works for me!

Don’t forget when shopping at Harbor Freight they always have a 20% off coupon (or better) and a freebie coupon. Some of the free items are excellent and the others are usually decent. So your $5 with the coupon is $4. Add one of the magnetic parts holders that cost over $5 in other stores and you could really get the bag for free and get a parts holder cheap!

I use a plain old duffel bag.... Have also been guilty of using a 5 gal bucket. The price is right, and they're very handy

First, that’s both funny and a good buy. I’m bookmarking that.

Second, I’m glad to know I fit right in with my tool bags. I’ve collected an assortment from Home Depot, Lowe’s, Harbor Freight , & Walmart. The manliest are in realtree camo pattern & the others are just black. Some have ammo, some have shooting supplies (ear & eye protection, gloves, paint, tape, targets, cleaning kits, etc), some are empty till I load up the guns. I use cheap gun rugs or gun socks for each handgun to keep them from banging around.

And if I run other errands and anyone looks in the back of my vehicle, it looks like tools in tool bags. I prefer “the grey man” over the tactical look. Nothing to see here, folks, just move along.

For my range bags I just use the heavy duty nylon bags I get for free from various organizations. They're sturdy and well built and have lots of extra pockets along with a large main pocket. Use one for carrying my guns and another one for ammo, targets, hearing protection, and spare mags. Most of them are all black (think I have a few that are brown or green), and all of them are very ordinary and inconspicuous looking.

I purchased this extra large heavy duty CLC tool bag about 10 or 11 years ago from HD because I needed something that could carry 6 or 7 full size handguns in padded zipper cases, mags, ammo, hearing protection, eye protection, and all the necessary accessories for two people. Its designed to hold 85 lbs of tools with heavy duty zippers, reinforced stitching, handles and padded shoulder strap. All kinds of compartments on the inside, and zippered pockets on the outside. Its been the best and most durable range bag that I've ever had, It's still the only range bag that I use on a regular basis when two of us go shooting.

Also I’m not sure having a tool bag in your vehicle is a deterrent or somethin* 5hat would make you a greater target.

Tools can be expensive, and some people that work c9nstruction can be less than honest, and if they can get tools for free they may break into your vehicle. Hard core drug users are always looking for things they can turn into quick cash, and tools are easy to turn into cash ast pawn shops.

If I were you, I’d cover that bag or make it so it’s hard to see if someone is looking in

Picked it up on sale at Sportsman Warehouse a couple of years ago and holds ammo, weapons, targets with multiple pockets for mags, tools and etc.

I rescued the Eddie Bauer edition diaper bag my MIL gave us from the goodwill pile when my wife decided she was done with it. The padded internal pockets designed for bottles work great for magazines, a removable plastic center compartment is good for brass, there are several external pockets that are just right for glasses, and flat compartments for notebooks, stapleguns, even rifle magazines. I've been using it for over ten years and it's held up great considering I load it down with much heavier stuff that for what it was designed.

I've had a BIG Midway bag for years and it has held up well.
I carry everything in it except ammo, that goes in a smaller big box store tool bag.
I put both bags onto a folding luggage cart/truck, get the one with the biggest wheels you can find and has fold-out wings that make it wider.

I use an old Uncle Mikes range bag. I think they called it Deluxe or some such. Paid about $40 for it a decade... or decade and a half ago. It's indestructible. A dang tank of a bag. In fact, it's the only Uncle Mikes thing I would recommend to anyone... if you can find one these days.
