After shopping around for a p01 for many years and never seeing one in the shops except for one i passed on in od green (not crazy about all green guns), I finally stumbled across an all black one a couple of days ago in the used counter in like new condition. It’s also one that has the NSN on it which is just another cool factor. Funny thing is I’ve been after a p01 for a while now and saw this one used and kind of wanted to pass because i wanted to buy one new. So I decided that I would get either a colt lightweight commander or a Springfield range officer champion elite instead, because I’m also after a commander size 1911 as well (I know, it’s a sickness lol). I narrowed that choice down to the Springfield range officer elite champion because it not only was $60 cheaper than the colt, but after a fairly detailed comparison it also seemed to give better bang for my buck or value if you will. So I decided to go with the Springfield. So I told myself if anything out of the ordinary happens I’m just going to take it as a sign to get the Cz that I really wanted in the first place. Then low and behold the guy helping me came back and said “we don’t have any more in the back but we have the box for this display model if you still want it”. That was all I needed to follow my first instinct and go with the p01. Upon detailed strip at home I’d guess this Cz has probably less than 500 rounds through it, by comparison of my 75B when I had about that much through it. And it doesn’t seem to have been carried much or if so it was in a high quality holster because there is no holster wear or finish flakings/nicks on the aluminum frame. Aluminum frames seem to be a little less forgiving to show wear than others in my experience. All in all I’m extremely happy as I can be for not shooting it yet. Range review to follow when I can get there in a couple weeks. As a side note I will be purchasing that range officer champion elite in the future and possibly the sig p365. I could not believe how small that p365 was in hand for a 10+1/12+1 9mm handgun. Wow! Well anyway here she is.

Excellent choice:
My PO1--the carry gun-- was really used when I bought it in December. Already had at least 10,000 rds. in it. The Israeli Border Police often choose PO1s or 75 PCRs due to their reliability.
A guy with their Border Police (dual US citizenship) sold me this PO1 which was kept in the US.

My 'like new' 75D PCR was acquired two months ago. Had to have two CZs!

jjones45: You might be well aware that MecGar mags are considered by most people to be 'official' CZ mags.

Be careful - as many say, they multiply. For me, the P01 is actually my most recent (after an SP01, Phantom, P07, 75B SA). I haven't gotten another CZ after it but that didn't stop me from finding a spare SP01 slide so I can have a "compact longslide" by putting it on the P01 frame...

The P-01 is one of the best all around 9MM's on the market. I have had a 75D PCR since 2000, so I never felt the need to get a P-01, but it is an excellent pistol. One of CZ's best, but hey they are all great. Congrats, you will love it.

Yes, a phantom and a p06 are still on my Cz list as well. I’d be interested to see a picture of the p01 with the sp01 slide. Interesting.

I’ve yet to see a 75D PCR in person. They seem more rare than the p01’s in my area, and the p01’s are about as rare as an albino squirrel. If I run across a PCR in person I would buy it for sure.

I found a green P-01, it's just different. I like 1911s more than anything, so my USP usually gets carried/shot the most but my stainless 75 and green P01 are just cool.

You might get lucky spotting a good PCR or PO1 at a 'realistic price' (it can happen, as with my recent '98 Sig P225) on your local Armslist. Lots of people seem to believe that a new CZ listed at approx. half the price of a new Sig can't also be of the highest quality, or they haven't really read about CZs.

My PCR had been bought from a Cordova TN retail gun shop by the prev. owner, then quickly Sold Back to the shop in 'like new' condition just before I spotted it about two months ago.

I was lucky enough to get my first CZ, a 75 PCR, last year for $500 out the door.

Been wanting another ever since.

I need to stay away from these threads

And, just for laughs, P01 w/SP01 slide, and a 16-round mag from normal-size CZ75 with SP01 baseplate. Compact hi-capacity longslide!
