Making use of the Twin Tech 4.5" threaded bbl I installed on my recently purchased Ruger SR22 4.5"....sometimes it's nice to have peace and quiet. The registered suppressor I have was designed for a 9mm. I contemplated purchasing another suppressor sized for a .22 lr but the registration process with the NFA branch of BATF takes forever (although wait times have started to decrease) plus the $200 tax stamp on top of the purchase price. The winds are changing and suppressors could possibly be coming off the NFA list of items requiring registration soon...you will then be able to buy them over the counter at your local gun store just like a pistol or rifle...tax stamp free and no long registration wait....so I'm holding off on a .22 suppressor for now. As you notice the 9mm suppressor has lots of capacity so while it makes the .22 super quiet its large diameter blocks the iron sights...hence the attachment of a Crimson Trace laser sight. I'll produce a video soon to demonstrate the level of sound suppression.

the 9mm suppressor looks a little bit better on bigger guns...

You haven't been paying attention....the Hearing Protection Act is dead in the water and has virtually zero chance of getting up for a vote in the House or Senate.

Waiting for the HPA to pass means you'll never own a .22 silencer.;)

I guess I haven't...disheartening to hear it was shelved. Maybe a chance of revival after the mid-terms?

Not likely with the political climate of the recent high profile shootings- even though not one of them had anything to do with suppressors... get in line and buy your .22lr can.... if the hearing protection act would pass in some form soon consider that you did your part to speed it up :)
