Should I pass?

$150 at most on this one. The Bavaria MP is the only reason they are asking as much as they are and as posted already I am not sure it is referring to a US police department or one in Bavaria. Even if it has seen service in Europe is it worth an extra $200? Unless you are just looking for a project I would pass.

If you could find one of the Bavarian marked M1 carbines, it would make a nice pair.

(Carbines were loaned to various Bavarian police agencies after WWII and they were stamped with the agency name on the receiver.)

Off topic, but I have a Carbine marked “Bavaria Rural Police”. I always thought it was cool, but does it also increase its value?

If I remember correctly, when CMP sold Bavarian marked Carbines, they got a small premium for them.

I’m not near my files at present to varify this though.

"But I’m not really looking for another Model 10. I’m looking for a Victory Model in 38 S&W or add to my collection. This one would be a fun restoration, but..."

I'm looking forward to reading about and seeing your eventual restoration candidate! Since I'm just lounging around this summer, I should probably start on a project like that, too. :)

To tell the truth, I really don’t need another project gun, I already have a bunch of them.
Here are two projects waiting for me to get back to them. The Label is missing an action screw, which I have already picked up, but it also needs a forend pin and repairs where the pin goes.
The P14 started as a $125 Sporter. It now sits in a DP stock waiting for me to instal a new front sight. There are many more.

You're a daisy if you don't buy it.

Amazing how many posters did not see that your top price for it is $180.00.

Looks like a easy job stripping the nickel (especially when it is already starting to peel off) and you said the lanyard ring is easy to replace.

I reload so the 38 S&W is not a concern although I might have to cast my own bullets.

For me it will have a lot of appeal in W.W.2 issued condition.

Cool rifles! I love the old ones like that. I bought several after The Wall came down and you could find them for $100 everywhere. :)
