My want list.

The want list is very small nowadays. But I've learned never to say "I'm done". (Thought I had) Been there several times.

I am thinking about a Henry lever .22 so I can semi-retire the 39A. Might would get a 10-22 "just because". Have a couple of other things in the back of my mind... but no pressing needs or wants.

Maybe I should finally take a hard look at getting into reloading. A lot of times I think in terms of ammo or storage before I think "new gun". That being said - if you keep going to your favorite shop, something will eventually catch your eye. Has happened to me a number of times now.

Ahhh. My want (wish) list.
Another safe!
SCAR 17
Wilson Combat 1911
Colt Python
Garand
MP5
A 9mm AR
A Bullpup either a Tavor or a AUG
HK USP compact 9mm
Colt LW commander in 9mm
Marlin (Not a remlin) 1894
Colt SCG

I'll pick up some over the couple years but my daughter starts college in the fall and those big ticket items will be on the back burner till she graduates. Want to keep any student debt down as much as possible.

Do any of you remember that "rail gun rifle" in some movie with either Mel Gibson or Arnold Schwarznegger (can't remember movie or actor)?
Other than that, the only other rifle I'm even remotely interested in is the Keltec CMR-30 to go with my pistol the PMR-30. Same mags in both. Problem is, I have a bolt-action .22 Mag and I'm not sure I want to shoot that much .22 Mag ammo. I have an AK in 7.62 x 39 as well as a 10/22, both with large capacity magazines (30 +) and both would do well for laying down "suppressing fire", if that ever became necessary.

I'm very happy aka satisfied with what I have.
However, a Garand is missing on the stable, may be a Colt 1911, if so a sistema for sentimental reasons.

No particular order:
Cz 550 FS 30-06
Single six bisley
Ruger no1 375 h&h
Jm stamped 45-70 straight stock 18" bbl
Winchester model 70 super grade 270
Pre64 win 94 w/ peep sight
M1A
Sr1911 in 10mm
Super redhawk 454 casual (7.5")
Super Blackhawk bisley Hunter 44 mag
Ruger vaquaro 45 colt
4" gp100
Mossberg 590
Chassis rifle,6.5 Creed with a big scope

Someday.....

It was " Eraser" with Arnold. If you go on YouTube, there are a number of videos of people who have actually built them, but they usually require an entire truck full of car batteries for a power source!

I’ve sold maybe 3/4ths of my guns.

I think I am gonna get a little .22 semi-auto pistol. I’ve got five acres, so I can easily build a range a hundred feet from my house.

At one time the LGS had not one but two CZ’s in .416 Rigby. For whatever reason, I have a fascination for one of those, although I have less than zero use for one.

Sold four rifles and replaced them with one for most of the hunting I do. Planning a bear hunt next spring, and that new 7 Mag should do fine.

I want for nothing; I don’t shoot most of what I have now. Once a firearm is sighted, load tuned and shooting well, it does the same thing every time you go to the range - the bullet goes to the same place in a small group and you look at the target and say, “Yup, OK.” . So you repeat the same process with a new firearm - it is a drug of madness I tell you, madness!

There's the "You're dreamin' if you think you're ever going to afford something like that unless you win the lottery list" and then there's the more realistic and practical "When I save up enough money for something like this list"; that is after two future weddings are paid for.

For now we'll keep it to the realistic and practical list:

1) A nice bolt action .22 rifle. Nothing that has to be super accurate (and super expensive too), just a nice bolt action to teach shooting to the grandkids with.
2) Would like a decent 1911 set up more for target shooting; something like the Ruger SR1911 target version.
3) A blued Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt/.45 ACP convertible (or a .41 Magnum), with a 4 5/8" barrel.
4) Always wanted a replica Colt Model 1851 but with a shorter barrel, like the 5" version Pietta makes. If I can't find one then a replica Spiller and Burr or Griswold and Gunnison will do just as well.
5) Maybe someday in the near future one of those SIG P365s, provided of course they have all of the problems with it ironed out by then.

I have both of these guns.

The Sig is a spectacular gun and very soft shooting.

The Ruger beat the living crap out of me with 20 rounds, and I haven't fired it since. I believe it is too small for me and I had a hard time getting a good shoulder weld, and having some neck issues made it hard to get a good cheek weld. I either need some spacers on the butt pad and a Limbsaver, or I need to sell that thing.

I have read the Ruger has some pretty big bite to it. I went through my Magnum rifle stage early on and nowadays I have no use for shooting a rifle that hurts to shoot. I was really wanting to have a nice rifle to share ammo with my 460v and the Big Horn Armory is too much over my budget so the Number 1 seems to be the way for me to go but after reading how uncomfortable it is to shoot I'm not so sure anymore?

If you get the LOP worked out with a Limbsaver, I would love to hear how it works out.

When I saw the title, I thought to myself -- what? Gunny is missing items? No way!

Gunny, do you have a S&W 41? I'm curious as to the 422 vs the 41.

For me, my want list includes:
M1917 revolver, US property stamped
CMP M1911A1
1903A3
SMLE Mk 1 or 3 (already have a No 4)
Browning Buckmark - threaded barrel
AR-10
Walther PPK 32 ACP
Beretta 8x 32 ACP
45 Colt lever action
Ruger 9 Carbine - threaded barrel

I think that's it. Or maybe not...

Yeah I'll pm you after I've made some mods and shot it again. I'm not a big rifle shooter so my technique was probably lacking and in my experience a rifle that has heavy recoil and is too small for a person is just as punishing as a small heavy recoiling handgun in hands that are too big for it.

I'm above average in size but pretty lean, so a gun that doesn't fit me beats me up pretty badly. Your experience may differ.

Anyway, back on track; I forgot to put a 1873 lever action in 44 mag on my list.

I would like a nice 22 semi-auto pistol that can eat lots of high velocity rounds.
I'd like likely dump the Kimber82G to get funding.

Springfield M1a loaded.
Suppressor and threaded barrel for my 1911.
Shiloh Sharps business rifle in 45/70.
5 Ruger Vaqueros in 44 Magnum in various configs.
Feinwerkbau air rifle with scope and great trigger. (so sick of my Crossman)

Mine usually only includes things I might actually get. Next up is, for right now, a stainless Ruger Vaquero in .357.

EDIT: Looking back, I see I'm not the only one.

Maybe a Ruger Vaquero in 357 magnum. (I have a embarrassing shortage of 357 revolvers).

Further beyond, either a decent M1 Garand or an M1 carbine. Maybe both, if one doesn't scratch the itch for the other.

Yep.

They are very different shooting experiences but both are fun in their own way. You should get both if you can, but if only one, get a good GI carbine.

I will never forget the look on my Dad's face the first time he shot a carbine- and he has shot Garands for years. Pure joy.:)

I was basically satisfied where I was....then I went to the NRA convention in Dallas.....list of guns that really grabbed me:

1) Marlin 1894 SBL stainless in 44 Spec/44 mag. What a dream lever action to hold and handle.
2) CZ Scorpion EVO 9mm carbine. Just so cool! If I do jump into the suppressor/SBR game it will be modifying one of these.
3) Glock G19X 9mm. It just feels right and I like that the mags are a different color (FDE) than my carry .40 Glocks (no confusion).
4) Ruger American Rimfire with thumb-hole stock in 22LR. A beauty to shoulder, likely the first one on the list I can acquire because of cost.

First thing I need to mention is, I’m currently unemployed so that has a large bearing on why it’s a want list instead of a have list. Hopefully back to work in a few months. Anyway here goes
1. Henry single shot in .223
2. Ruger’s new 9mm carbine
3. Howa MINIACTION in 6.5 Grendel
4. LabRadar chronograph
5. A roof over my shooting bench at my new range.
That’s all I can think of right now except maybe optics for 1 and 3.

-Still trying to afford a Garand.
Both of my sisters have suddenly found themselves unemployed.
You stand by family.
I have a Garand and it is worth saving up for.

I don't have to many that I want to acquire. A 1911 in .45 to go with my Colt 1911 in 9mm.
A M1a is on my list too. A Ruger Vaqero in either .45 or .357. I want to start reloading so I can REALLY get to know some of my current firearms.
