90% of the time, strong-side OWB at 3:00 o'clock; 10% strong-side IWB at 4:00.

Almost always leather, Kramer or Milt Sparks for me, although I've got some great Blade-Tec, Safariland and G-Code kydex holsters.

No matter the climate or season, I'm dedicated to a full-size (4" or greater barrel) semi-auto such as a SIG P-series (226/228/229) or 1911 (full-size or Commander).

Will never accept the concept of appendix IWB carry, sorry ...

Most of the time strong side, IWB, at around the 4 to 5 o'clock position. Sometimes I will carry at the 2 o'clock position and with a small .380 I might do pocket carry with a holster.

I wear cargo pants or cargo shorts. In the right cargo pocket goes the EDC in a suitable holster, and in the left cargo pocket goes a spare magazine. This approach doesn't give me the fastest presentation, but it's much less obtrusive than waist carry in the summer and doesn't get covered by lots of clothing in the winter.

Be careful now, if your OWB gets in front of your 3 oclock you are technically appendix.

But Im sure your point is the 12 o'clock appendix, which I do not find comfortable. About 1:30 is all the further forward I can handle. 2 - 230 works best for me.

Nobody will like this, but i carry my LCP iwb on a techni-clip. No holster. Empty chamber.
All day, every day.
I can’t say I like it but if it works for you go for it.

If I might offer a suggestion, since it sounds like you like to be as minimal as possible, trigger guard kydex holster add almost no bulk but would allow you to chamber a round too.

Just something to think about.

How has the leather compared to kydex? I usually carry about 1230-100 in an all kydex with claw holster and if the pants and belt aren’t just right it can get uncomfortable. I really like the rigidity of the kydex though.

Not sure how my holster compares to kydex, but at the 1 o'clock I think it's very comfortable. I have to pull my pants up every once in a while, but that is due more to the weight of the gun with a full magazine than anything else.

Bob, I know you're kidding right? Small Of Back, Inside Waist Band. You're a SSOWB kind of guy. Strong Side Outside Waist Band. And I still like that holster. It's about perfect straight forward design, well executed, with no ornamentation.

It was against a person and when in that situation , I'd say what Clint Smith said "never seen a stop watch I'm a gun fight" I practice drawing alot as I'm sure many of yall do. I prefer shoulders since I am on the road alot and they just feel more comfortable to me then a bulky revolver or 1911 on the side

Fair enough, but your statement wasn't you can outdraw a person, it was "I can outdraw you".

And since I ain't looking for a gunfight ;)

Times are all we got.

In street clothes I carry strong side IWB. Anywhere between 1 and 4 o clock. Depending on the firearm, holster, clothing, weather, and intended activities.

I have my self defense gun carried in a Safepacker holster. I do not feel I need to have it on my person 24/7 but when I am away from the house, I have it in the car. If I feel the need, I can place the holster on my belt.

More important, I do not like a pistol that is carried with potential energy stored in the firing pin system. Hence, my carry handguns are double action first shot for semi-autos or DA revolvers. My choice, carry what floats your boat.

Normal: strong side (LH) IWB under a tucked-in shirt, center of mass just behind the hip. S&W M&P 40 full size, with printing reduced by the fact that I always wear a jacket. In winter I carry a spare magazine in one of my jacket pockets (my summer jacket doesn't have a good place for it).
On the ranch: strong side (LH) flap holster, open carry, center of mass at the hip. S&W 686P (6") with two rounds of snake shot and five JHP. Two speed loaders in a pouch on the front LH side of the belt with 14 more JHP.
I also carry a Mag-Lite XL200 on my RH side, just forward of the hip, and a CRKT folder in my back LH pocket.
I holster slowly and carefully, visually inspecting the holster for clothing intruding into it, but when unholstering I take the opportunity to practice drawing. So far I've never had an AD (or ND, if you prefer).
