Labradar - New App Due Soon???

Yeah, I saw that. I have a friend with a Labradar, and I WILL eventually own one of them! The app will definitely be a nice addition. Right now, resetting the unit, or saving groups, is cumbersome just due to the required placement. I think the app will definitely help with that.

I just got a labradar. No problems so far just setting what I need right on the chrono itself.

I'm hoping to buy a Labradar this year. Definitely would welcome the additional capability.

The problem I mentioned was when you are shooting a gun with a long barrel, you can't just reach over to operate the unit since it is out of arms reach.

I have had mine for a year or so, and totally love it. I find it easy to operate, but then again I mostly chrono pistol rounds. The App will be a nice addition however.

The link doesn't work for me.

Is the app an additional cost or will it be provided free-of-charge to LR owners?

June 8th-24 they are $50 off.

I was on their list when they showed them at the SHOT show, then after more than a year of pushing back release dates, I decided I could hold off for awhile.

The lower price is a good sign, I’m still waiting for a 2nd gen that Incorporates some of the “optional” accessories to accomplish what my current chronographs can already do.

Labradar have FINALLY released the Bluetooth app for control and data transfer of the unit to your phone or tablet.

Woo-hoo! Very excited!!!

Android only as of today, iPhone app coming in a few days.

Requires a firmware update on the Labradar which takes a few seconds.

Got it installed and setup, now I need to get out and test it.

Got my Labradar last week. Got the iOS app yesterday. Got the two connected and can configure the settings on the Labradar via my iPhone. Very cool. Now I just need to get to the range ...

Im getting an communication error on mine app but im im no rush at the moment. Been shooting mostly pistol lately

I got a chance to play with the app last night for about 15 min or so, and it is pretty nice. Very well thought out and useful, but it is still got a few issues.

1) I have trouble connecting to the unit. It sometime takes 5-6 tries (or more) before they will handshake. (Communication error mostly).
2) There is a button to arm the device, which is great, but I do not see where I can create a new Series. Each set of shots is stored in a Series. For example, if I am testing 4 different load, I put each one in a different Series. Each series has multiple shots in them. There are times when I take a break to load a mag or something, and I want to go back to the same series and continue shooting, or I might want to create a new series for a new load. It *appears* that when I arm the device, it is adding whichever series I have highlighted. I have not actually tested this at the range to see how this works in a real setting, but this confuses me at this point.
3) A minor detail, but I don't see how to save the data to my phone. I will probably just pull the SD card from the Labradar and import into my computer anyway, but I thought it was an interesting omission.

Other than those things, I am really impressed. Some of them (especially #2 above) are probably just me not understanding how to use the app yet.

From what Ive read on facebook, with the app you can now go back and forth between series to continue to add shots to an older group/series if you want. I had mentioned that I would like the ability to rename the series names to something more meaningful or a separate displayed field that you can add a display name. Someone from Labradar said it should be coming in a future update. With the first update they were only concerned with matching the current device features.

That part I can handle, but I can't create a *NEW* series. Am I missing something?

Thanks!!!

I couldnt say as to that. I havent gotten mine to work at all. Im still getting a communication error msg.

I don't know what differences might exist between platform apps, but in the iOS app when you are connected to your Labradar unit, there is a "+" in the upper right of the screen. That starts a new series.

I am so excited! I upgraded to the latest firmware as outlined in the instructions, loaded the LabRadar app onto my phone and it linked with no issues with my unit. It will be a day or so before I can make it to the range, but I can remotely control the unit without any issues.

15ACD32A-6548-4008-B1B9-15991779B052.jpeg I did pretty good this Father’s Day. My kids bought these for me. Did the new software download and have my iPad and iPhone hooked up just have to get to the range and try it out.
The printer is going to take a bit longer to figure out though.

I just got the firmware update and the app. Everything is working as advertised.

For those having problems pairing the app and the LabRadar: you may have missed the part in the instructions where it tells you not to do a conventional Bluetooth pairing with your phone. Instead, you open the app and select your LabRadar from there. Be advised that it identifies your LabRadar by a long string of digits that includes the serial number. It might be worthwhile to label your LabRadar with it's serial number...that way, if you're at a range where multiple units are in use it will be easy to pick yours out.

This is what I do, however it is still hit and miss, and a lot of other users are reporting the same problems. Sometimes I have to attempt to connect 5-6 times before it finally works. Others have reported that it loses connection while in use on a fairly frequent basis. I have not seen this issue yet, but then again, I have not actually taken it out to the range yet to do anything "real".
