I try not to get caught up in ammo selection too much in .380, with my only rule (for myself, of course) being a decent JHP round in guns with a barrel at least three inches long. Any barrels less than that in length gets a FMJ or FNEB load. The guns I have in the caliber are a Bersa Thunder, Grendel P10, and a Taurus TCP. As of now, the loads in them are (respectively) Winchester "Defend" 95-grain JHP, Remington-UMC 95-grain FNEB, and Winchester "Train" 95-grain FMJ (truncated.)
The Grendel isn't carried, but it was left loaded the last time it was put back in the safe.
These loads are readily-available around me, affordable enough for me to shoot them now and then, and work in my guns.
