Saw this on the Military Arms Channel and was amazed. Now the question: Could the Glock 19 match (survive) this?

Yes. And you will have a gun with 2x the capacity, a better trigger, and a more effective and available round.

Guys, do these tests on the G19 include loading the mag with sand? I was certain after he rolled the open mag in the sand, GAME OVER! But no, GAME ON!

That gets done every day in the mideast. Worst environment in the world, tied for first place with saltwater and beach sand. And they still work. Been there, done that.

Let's see a Makarov after a 500' drop. Then you can tell us that sand is worse.
Sand is worse because sand being jammed into the gun is a credible scenario. Guns flying out of helicopters at 500' ain't a credible scenario.

Besides, any piece of high impact plastic should be able to withstand a 500' fall. I'm afraid the helicopter routine doesn't impress me. The sand stuffed into the mag and having the gun work flawlessly does impress me. Hell, that's AK-esque!

Whst’s fun about the AK-47 (maybe the Glock and Maksrov too) is considering whether it was designed/intended to be so robust, or did it just turn out that way fortuitously.

Fact enough for you?
Oh yeah, I wasn't doubting you at all. I meant I'm glad you posted that fact. The notion of Glock Perfection and that they are some sort of unstoppable and indestructible item is silly to me. They make a good utilitarian gun, but indestructible they are not. No gun is, but some may do better than others, but luck has a lot to do with it.

General Comment:
Torture tests are silly to me. One guy with an expendable income abusing a gun and then acting like it's a POS because it doesn't work or it breaks, or acting like it was hand crafted by god if it doesn't break and does function is pure kaka.

To me a torture test is shooting the living hell out of a gun and seeing if it will function, not beating it up and then trying to draw conclusions after a single example is tested and abused.

I stopped watching MAC a few years ago.

Agreed.. The late Todd Greens tests were far more informative.
