Vorticis 45 Suppressor

My new prototype, which proved to be highly effective. I'd love to show you guys the guts, but for now I think it's best I not post photos of my design that I believe could set the standard for PCC/subgun suppressors, lest more established manufacturers rip me off. Tell me what you think!

I'm not sure yet. This is prototype 1, and it has a particularly tricky part inside. I also need to decide if I'll option it with QD type bases and boosters vs. direct thread, or just make them all multi-mount. Direct thread is much easier and would be cheaper, but I don't want to catch a bad rap down the road for my can being inflexible just because folks chose the DT option to save a couple hundred at time of purchase. This thing has the potential to be a universal type suppressor like the SiCo Hybrid, only better, but I still need to do testing with more developed prototypes before I market it that way.

It will probably end up in the $700-$900 range, though.

No, it's a fully welded core.

Yes, although I can't yet say what it will sound like with them. It wasn't fantastic with 5.56mm, much like the Hybrid or other large bore cans don't do a great job suppressing high velocity small bore rounds. I was OK without ear pro out behind my house, but it was teetering on uncomfortable out of the 16" carbine.

Muzzle report is similar. It's the reduced port noise which sets it apart.

Shouldn't make much difference. If anything, probaby more effective on shorter barrels, given that they'll vent gas into the can earlier in the bolt cycle. Longer barrels have lower uncorking pressure with a given round, but the duration for which the bore is pressurized is longer. On gas operated guns, the gas system is calibrated according to barrel length for proper unlock time, but on a straight blowback, there's almost no difference. Breech opening timing and bolt velocity are determined by bolt weight and duration of accelerating forces.

I certainly can do a 9mm variant, but I don't think there'd be an appreciable difference in noise.

I don't know when I'll call this one ready for market. Much more testing to do.
