IMG_6311.JPG Yesterday SA posted this on FB. I think the long awaited XD/XDm 10mm offering will finally appear.

If you're a 10mm fan keep an eye open. I've been eying up Glock 20's for awhile now. I'd much prefer an XDm. The only problem is my 10mm Carbine takes G20 magazines. So this may just end with me acquiring both.

After the Saint hype/let down I'm not gonna hold my breath with SA.

Then again I'm not interested in a 10mm XD so its easy to not get excited :)

You have a G20 don't you?

The 10mm TRP was what really ticked me off. All the hype for a really expensive 1911. My Sig 220 in 10mm was several hundred dollars cheaper and is a real nice shooter.

I have a 21 and intend to get a 10mm barrel "some day".

My 10mm is a RIA tactical that is an absolute tack driver. For under $600 it's been a real steal.

The return of the delta, I was all for.
The sig 220...i had been wanting for many years.
A hi- point carbine taking glock mags I'd love
The 6 inch glock was a perfect addition to all my other 10mms.
But while I'm glad to see more 10s on the market, I can't imagine ever owning the xd barring a sub-300ish used one. I'd give a full size M&P a second look but doubt any other striker fired polymer 10s are in the future.
I would like to see the bren accurately reproduced, if for no other reason, to get new mags and parts for the originals I'd buy one if it was priced in the 5-600 dollar range so long as it wasn't associated with louis imperato.

I will never complain about another 10mm offering. Anything that gets the 10mm Auto some deserved recognition is fine with me. That being said, I've shot several XDs and always felt lukewarm about the experience. My interest is 'meh.' I think the XD has noticeably more muzzle flip than the Glock, for one. But what really does it for me is Springfield as a company. After having my M1A crash and burn I've scrutinized them. Their politics and apparent lack of quality control means I will probably pass on the 10mm XD, but by all means, if the XD is your thing and you're interested in the 10mm Auto, don't walk, run to your local FFL dealer and get yourself on that 10mm bandwagon. All the cool kids are doing it...

That's pretty much how I feel. I'd give SA about a .001% chance of ever getting me to buy one of these, but I'm perfectly happy for other offerings to be in the market.

It does create that band wagon mentality, which would hopefully expand the selection.

I'm still waiting for an all steel P227 in 10mm. YOU HEAR ME SIG!

45 and 10 are easy to tell apart. 10 and 38 super comp... basically the same proportions... the 38 super comp is like a 6/7 scale model of a 10! Very easy to get those two confused.

I am interested to see what they put out. Though given my above posted ownership, a Glock makes more sense.

Assuming it is a XD or XDM, I have mixed feelings. Living in Illinois I have a real problem with what Springfield did when they threw gun owners under the bus, especially after my conversation with Dennis Reece's daughter. She was nice enough but confirmed in my mind that they knew what they were doing. It makes it hard for me to send them money. On the other hand I've been looking for an alternative to my Glock 20. It's reliable but due to the grip size, which doesn't fit me well, I don't shoot it as well as I'd like. My SIG P220 is a fantastic shooter, but is heavy for carry when on extended hikes in the woods. If the Springfield is reliable and ideal for woods carry, I'll need to swallow my pride as the safety of me and my sons trumps politics.

Just a thought but the 5 or so oz you save in weight is pretty much offset by the extra rounds (assuming a Glock like 15) in the mag, meaning it'll probably be an ounce or two lighter, if that. Less if it's a 5" (or more) barrel.

For the 300 dollars a hi-point would be... I'd take it. Lol. I honestly don't care for a pistol caliber carbine. I'd buy a cheap one using glock mags though just for giggles. I have a couple hi- points and they are fun for their price.
As far as the bren price... if they were reintroduced and succeeded it couldn't be by an obscure startup company handing I-O-Us instead of mags like D&D so I'd hope the price would be competitive. I don't think anyone who owned or shot an original would pay 220/ high end witness/ delta elite money for another one. It would have to be priced right, and with the MIM cnc and such, I imagine it could be, just not by vltor or any of those companies that ive seen so far attempt it. I would think cz or tanfoglio would be the logical companies to introduce it, but what do I know
As far as the grip I can't imagine any double attack 10 being much smaller in grip than the glock. The round takes up too much space to make it smaller. A 1911 in 10 might be best for your carry gun. Of all my 10s the sig and 1911s are the only ones my smaller handed wife can shoot. My biggest problem with the xd (and Springfield) came when i opened the first xd box emblazoned with a big American flag to reveal a gun stamped made in Croatia. The things that followed after were just icing on the cake. I will still pick up a professional fbi 1911 someday though.

But again kudos to them for making it, I hope it does well, can't have to many 10s on the market. Plus I get to keep laughing at all those people who argued it would die out for the last 25 years.

My Sig is just shy of 40 oz. The Glock is just over 30. You're right about the gap being narrowed with the extra rounds. I'll see where the SA comes in and make decisions from there. I've also been looking for a better way to carry it than IWB when hiking, but that's a topic for the holster part of the forum.

I can understand that, and it stuck in my craw as well. Full disclosure, this is my last hope for SA. If I don't care for the offering, I'll likely stop buying their guns all together.

My XDs had to have the trigger replaced by the factory this year. It came back fast, but the accuracy of the gun seems diminished somehow. I need to test it again. Maybe my old trigger was just broken in better.

Diamond D Leather makes the Alaskan Hunter holster for the P220 5" 10mm. you can get a drop loop for it also if you like it to sit lower. I have one for my S&W 686+ and really like it. You may want to check it out.

Thanks. They look like a great option where open carry is allowed. They have a pancake holster that may be what I need for CC.
