Bad guys and bad guns

The one property room weapon I received all those years ago that made me want to cry was a fine old L.C. Smith double 12ga that some idiot had stolen and converted into a robbery popper - pistol grip (what was left of a gorgeous old walnut stock) and the barrels sawed off down to about 10" long...

Someone took a valuable high end old shotgun and just butchered it. I'll bet anyone that actually fired it -would never do it twice... It was meant to be a close up armed robbery surprise where the victim, behind a store counter, realized that it was being pointed at him from about two feet away... Funny thing - at about the same time we had a different robbery caught on camera (where else... in a camera and video store at the height of the Christmas rush...). The store was full of customers and the only one that saw the sawed off was the poor clerk - and it was all caught on camera... Fortunately the poor clerk didn't get hysterical until after the robber exited the store....

In spite having him on video - we never found him either....

Thanks for posting that stuff, Gunny.... I've heard some stories about stuff like that from a retired sheriff that I know but of course I didn't get to see any of it. When I worked a few years in a chemical waste incinerator in the mid 1990's we occasionally burned guns for a local P.D. but I didn't get to see them either, as they were sealed up in fiber drums when they went into the incinerator. But I heard some good stories from the cops overseeing us burning guns about some of those guns that wind up in the evidence or property rooms and they do indeed get some interesting stuff that proves that Bubba is still alive and well

Well, at least the foregrip on that Ruger lines up nice when it's folded.
Can't imagine who would mount a scope on that AR and not even look through it before trying it. Though in this case, I'm 100% for it. Anything that would make a thug shoot worse is fine by me.

It's called a lightning Link, if I recoil right. It holds the disconnector to the rear and the gun will go full auto. they are not hard to make and I think you can still find unfinished one for sale. But once you fit one to a gun, you're looking at 10 years in club Fed.

Will they actually prosecute him/her/they/it ?

Well, it was found in his attic during a drug related search warrant along with several other guns, some stolen.
And then it was an unregistered SBR with a 10” barrel. His story was that’s how it was when he bought it. I’m pretty sure he will be getting three hots and a cot for a few years to come.

Well, that I believe. These guys generally aren't exactly gunsmiths, so I'd assume he bought it off the black market.
Then again, he did manage to at least copy a lightning link. Good chance it was a pistol when he (or someone else) bought it, and got a stock stuck on it.

One of my buddies was the rangemaster at a fairly large metro PD. In that capacity he took charge of all the ammunition that was confiscated in various investigations, so that he could destroy it. A bunch of that ammo was in the same condition as the firearms depicted here.

Part of my job is destroying old evidence ammo. I do box up the good stuff that can be used if needed.

I didn’t pick up anything cool at Evidence but did get this one. The drug dealer that had it made sure that he had extra mags. I guess he didn’t know that you can’t use a Glock mag in an Intertec.

If it fits in mag well might be able to hold it in enough to feed. Little duct tape good to go lol.
That is a pretty clean looking tec for a thug gun.

There was a little rust in the barrel and the Glock mags will not fit in the mag well.
Most of the guns I get are in pretty good shape.
I really hate the ones like this.

Just wondered on the mags. if I could get around I would have checked myself have a tech and a g19 with a 30 mag.

Was that a suicide pistol?
Do you have to test fire as is since it's evidence?
Otherwise that thing would be run through a dish washer and then a sonic tank.
