First semi-auto I ever had was an Astra Model 600. Definitely a love/hate relationship. Love for how well made it was and for it's accuracy; hate for it being a straight blowback 9mm. and for the beating my hand took every time I used it.

I always have my eyes open for a '94 Win SRC. Especially a .45 colt trapper

I may build another AR pistol for a dedicated truck/tractor gun. They are so handy and so effective.

I've been on a gun buying binge for the past probably 10 years. When I started I owned 3.... I now own 18 and one of the three is gone. I've covered about everything I ever wanted plus a few. I've not had a "gotta have it" moment since the last one arrived a few months ago. I honestly can not think of anything I want or need.... I have one for every conceivable situation I can think of.... even just to play with.

I think I'm done. After all I'm 78 years old and I can't use all I've got. My Grandsons are gonna be happy young men some day.

Honestly? Nothing. My bases are covered and I have more than I need. My “short list” is a list of guns I’m likely to sell in the next six months. I’m getting out of .308 completely and have one rifle in that cartridge left ... and it will be gone shortly.

That does not mean I’ll never buy another gun. I will likely remain an opportunistic buyer. But I don’t have a “list” I’m looking for.

Now if Henry were to offer the Single Shot Rifle in .357 magnum, I might jump on it ...

Maybe, just maybe, a SiG P365, though my enthusiasm has significantly waned.

My own "short list" tends to change with a fair amount of regularity. Right now, I'd say these are my top picks:

Glock 43
S&W Model 25
Ruger Gunsite Scout w/Composite Stock

- Premium AR15, like a Daniel Defense or Bravo Company, would consider a Ruger MPR or Savage MSR
- Kimber K6
- S&W 17 or 617, might even take a GP100 22 or Dan Wesson .22 for the right price
- full sized 9mm DA/SA with a rail, prefer metal frame (CZ SP01, SIG 226, Beretta 92)
- Kahr P380 to replace my tired LCP

Likely I assemble another AR before purchasing any on the list though.

I'm wanting a new AR flat top match upper that can accept a scope.
Maybe a White Oak or Compass Lake model.

My short list varies from time to time...
Right now I am thinking a target grade 1911 in .45ACP, a new 12ga. autoloader, another Uberti .44Spl revolver, a stainless Ruger Super Single Six in .22/22Mag and a stainless BlackHawk in .357/.45Colt/.41Mag/.44Spl, not really sure what caliber I want.
Of course...this is all subject to change on a moments notice. Never know when some shiny thing will catch my eye and throw all these aforementioned plans out the window.

I just added the LCR 9MM to my short list.

There is really never anything on my "short list" as I am more of an impulse buyer esp since all bases are covered 10x.

1. Pay off the Tatham & Egg flintlock pistol I ordered from Tilo Dedinski. Should be delivered next year.
2. Pedersoli double-barreled flintlock shotgun.
3. CMP 1911, if I get a good number in the lottery for them.
4. Walther PPQ Navy...maybe.
5. Depends on what's introduced in the next year.

Glock 41, big bore AR15 of some sort (can’t decide or I’d already have it), more regular AR15’s, want a sbr for sure, Glock full size 9mm, 50BMG and optic to shoot a very long way maybe in 4-5 years I can afford one.
Probably upgrade some 308 target/hunting guns and optics along the way. I’ve been culling stuff I bought on a whim for a long while now, about have the stable down to a reasonable level.

A new Colt Night Cobra
