Bass Pro has Federal Black box 1,600 count regularly $79.97 for $39.97 after $20 Mark down and $20 rebate. I think code is 2645002. It’s in the Christmas flyer 2.5 cents per round.

sale doesn't start until 11/21, and hopefully the rebate form will be available then.

I already prepared my wife last night for the firearms related spending spree I might go on for Black Friday and cyber monday.

She very clearly said "NO", but I'm going to pretend that she was just joking....
I wish my wife joked.

I'm still learning lol. We used to have our own slush funds for our hobbies so I always bought what I wanted no-questions-asked. But she recently stopped working full time to start her own consulting business where she could stay home with the kids, so our individual spending accounts were suspended in July until her business gets enough clients.

It's been a little odd for both of us to suddenly need to discuss unnecessary purchases with the other!

My wife and I solved this issue years ago. We agreed she won't question how I spend my hobby money and she gets to spend doubled what I spend (And I don't question how she spends the money). ;)

Since then, life has been great. :D:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Until one year I went on a $7,000+ spending spree for Christmas and wife spent around $16,000 ...

Last year, I spent almost $10,000 on gun/reloading stuff, especially on "cheap" Black Friday :D ... yup, wife was a happy clam. :p:p

I have already started shopping for Black Friday this year and she smiles big whenever UPS truck delivers a box with my name.

Sportsman Guide has this for 18.04 for members, and 18.99 non member.
Aguila .22 SuperExtra, .22LR, HVSP, 40 Grain, 500 Rounds

I just picked this one ,as they have a very good assortment of brands and round counts at very good prices!

We all know the saying: Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

What I know about online ordering of ammo . . . . It's best if I'm actually home (rather than Mrs. McGee) when the shipment arrives.

I have seen some sales on that, along with Federal rebates. I wonder what the rounds are? New line? Something they already make repackaged?

Rumor has it that these are the same bullets, but repackaged for Black Friday sales, hence the name. I am just repeating what I have read, so take that with a grain of salt.

Same as what? Federal makes several.

Sorry, same as the standard Federal Blue Box bulk packs (525 to a box). There a few threads around the 'Net where some super-sleuths (;)) are trying to crack the code to figure this out. Side-by-side comparisons, chronograph analyses, cartridge disassembly and analysis of the bullet and powder (weight and appearance, etc.).

I am not into it to worry that much about it for my plinking ammo but some people have a lot of extra time on their hands! :p I am guessing from what I have read that it is either identical to the Federal Blue Box bulk packs, or very similar. As long as they work in a similar fashion, I will be OK for plinking, especially at that price.

The Walmarts in my area currently have Remington Thunderbolt 500 rd bulk packs for $14.58 each. That works out to 2.9 cents a round, no fussing around with rebates and shipping.

Not everyone's favorite 22 ammo, but it works well enough in my revolvers and bolt guns.

Not that great then. :)

Agreed, but it is just over 2 cents a round, which is great for plinking around.

It came *next* to last in accuracy testing with my S&W Victory .22 pistol, only trailed by the Winchester Super X that just won't run in my gun at all. But at that price, I can handle it I think. I had no trouble with it cycling, just not as accurate as I would have liked it.

My heavy barrel 10/22 routinely rips the bullseye into a ragged hole using Fed bulk pack, and they seem to kill prairie dogs pretty well too :) ymmv

My wife knows I have hearing loss, what she doesn't know is I I view it as a gift.

I lean towards sort of classic guns like older Colt and S&W revolvers and I collect Colt Series 70 guns. When I buy a gun I normally take her shopping at the jewelry store. Now if I am eyeing something in the $2K range I take her to the jewelry store first and then a week later while she is still eyeing her latest I mention a nice to have gun.

Saw the flier and thinking about the Browning Lever 22. I seldom buy a new gun and this price requires no approval. :)

In today's Sunday ads, Academy Sports also has the Federal 36 gr. CPRN .22LR ammo for $39.99 (after $20 rebate) for 1600 rounds. That's 2.5 cents per round. Pretty good if you ask me ! Add to the fact that, here in Illinois, our new governor is "Jabba the Hutt" and has grandiose plans for gun owners.
