Cz shadow 2 9mm first impression

I don't compete.
I'm at an indoor range weekly with 25 yard max.
I'm a paper puncher extraordinaire.

I have been pushing my distances the last few months and have always desired a dedicated accurate range toy.
Until now my sig sauer max 1911 45acp filled that role.

I recently purchased the aforementioned CS shadow 2 in blue black.

What a trigger for a production gun. I have wanted to send my cz sp01 tactical in to cajun for a pro package and now that I've shot this shadow 2 I can't believe the difference.

I'm using my rmr 124 grain mpr hollow points with just over 4 grains of titegroup. I put 100 rounds through just warming up and learning the feel. I then setup my splatter target with 12 3" circles on a12x18 card. I proceeded to put 180 rounds within the 3"bulls at 8 yards. I know, I know. I'm obviously not pushing my distance but I'm in the familiarize myself and break in phase of this new gun.

Christmas has come early. At current forecast I've got 2019 covered hopefully. 16k primers, 11k bullets, and more than enough powder for it all. That's 9mm bliss. I'll be putting some 45acp and 44 mag down range as well but I foresee this toy really getting some trigger time
 
I found one at my LGS. Wanted to buy it so badly. Turns out it's a good thing I didn't. Hit a deer a week later and have a deductible to pay.

I'll get one eventually though.
 
I picked one up about 5-6 months ago. I polished the internals. I also installed the flat trigger and converted it to SAO. Talk about a sweet shooter! The trigger is 2-3 lbs with short reset. Its a keeper!
 
Whew 2lb trigger is not something I'm quite ready for to be honest. I'll be saving up to pro package my sp01 and will most likely shoot 1000 rounds from this as is before playing around
 
The DA/SA trigger was fine but I like SAO, flat triggers and short reset. Very easy to keep most rounds in a 5 inch circle at 15 yards. Probably goes without saying but I find I shoot lighter triggers more accurately.

I've had the opportunity to try one. I've been very impressed about its accuracy, trigger, feeling in the hand and soft shooting. The look was also good which doesn't hurt.
 
I like mine, it's probably the nicest non-custom CZ you can buy, but it hasn't replaced my STI 2011s. I like the extended thumb safety best, the standard ones are too thin.

One doesn't have to compete in order to enjoy guns that are built for competition! Gamer guns are generally built with a more uncompromising emphasis on how well they shoot (as opposed to how cheaply they can be sold by the crate to law enforcement, or how well they work after being stomped into a mud-puddle, or how well they tuck into a vest pocket, etc.).

I shoot competitively, but, if I ever quit, I fully expect most of my recreational shooting would still be done with competition-oriented guns, simply because they shoot the best.

My sentiments exactly. I don't compete for several reasons. It doesn't mean I need any sort of justification to myself to spend the extra coin to shoot the guns I enjoy, be them designed for competition or not.
 
I enterted the foray into CZ's a few months ago. Wanted something in 9mm with a high capacity so I could run it in IDPA and 3GUN.

Ended up with a CZ75 "Accu-Shadow" lite from the custom shop. Very, very, good trigger and due to he bushing very accurate. Taken a couple 1sts and normally in the top 3 or 4 in our local IDPA matches with it:

Went with the "lite" to make sure I can make weight with base pads and maybe a magwell. Only mods are the Dawson FO front, some base pads, grip tape on the front strap and the "zombie green" thin grips. The aluminum ones with skateboard tape just weren't cutting it.
