I'm looking for a pump 12 ga for duck and skeet. I don't have a ton of money right now so I need to go lower end. I was considering a CZ 612 but heard they are garbage, and I know Rem 870s fit me well but I'm worried about quality control issues. I've bought one Stoeger but owned multiple because they break and Benelli sends me new ones. Had a Mossberg 930 but got bad face slap, so don't think the 500 will fit. My preferred dimensions are:
LOP: 14.5"
DAH: 2.5"
DAC: 1.5"

My only requirements are that it doesn't break and has a single bead. Any recommendations for new or used would be appreciated, and don't tell me to just save money and buy a Citori. Also don't tell me to get a smith to fit one to me.

I am satisfied with my Winchester SXP, but LOP is short for you ; don't know if a replacement recoil pad is something you would consider to lengthen it. I have no clue of its DAH & DAC, it must be stated on their website. Quality is good out of the box, it shot the cheapest and the finest ammo equally, without any hiccup. Very easy to clean. Fast and solid.

The LOP you want is longer than what most shotguns come with. Face Slap quite often is the result of LOP being too short. 1.5” DAC is pretty common, you shouldn’t have a problem with that. What does sound like it could be an issue is wanting a DAH of 2.5”. A full inch difference between DAH and DAC is not the norm. I don’t see many shotguns with a 2.5” DAH. Since you explicitly stated you didn’t want a recommendation of having a shotgun fitted to you, I guess you are SOL. The CZ 612 comes as close to having the stock dimensions you want as I’ve seen. CZ also takes care of their customers. CZ shotguns IMO don’t have the fit and finish of some other brands, have a heavy trigger but they are not prone to breakage any more than other shotguns in their price range.

No the LOP is about normal for most hunting and sporting guns. If the OP wants a large DAH, then installing an adjustable butt plate solves that issue.

Personally, of all the guns listed, I would go with the 870. CZ doesn't make their shotguns.

Most of my shotguns came with a LOP of 14.25”. CZ doesn’t make their shotguns but they stand behind them and have great customer service. Just did a search and no semi or pump by Winchester, Mossberg, Browning or Benelli comes with a 14.5” LOP. Beretta doesn’t state their LOP. Remington has two Trap models with a LOP of 14.5”, the rest are shorter.

I haven't had any quality control issues with any of my recent 870 Express models , two 12ga. synthetic models and a 20ga. youth model . I have been very pleased with my two 12ga. models , they function like they should , the finish is better than I heard and they pattern great . I bought them to lend new hunters when Remington was running the rebate , OTD $225 and some change . I have won a few turkey shoots with them , something I have yet to do with my SX3 and I am just using a full choke in them . They are not as long in the LOP as you want though .

And everyone of mine came with 14.75", all O/Us and SxSs

Nothing wrong with a slip on pad if it gets the guy where he wants to be. Who knows, maybe he’ll find a gun that has his preferred LOP and won’t need to add length.

As stated above, Dude doesn’t have a lot of money and may not be able to afford an OU or SxS.

It’s great that all your guns have your stated LOP. But that doesnt help OP.

He'd be better off adding a spacer than a loose wobbly slip-on pad

Save your money and buy a Citori, and be sure to have a fitter, not a smith (two different things, though some are both) fit it for you.

Lighten up, Francis.

Find an older used 870; quality is excellent, still can be found at fair prices; same can be said of Model 12's, though they won't be pretty. Any fixed choke gun you plan on using for ducks, you will have to measure the bore, and be sure it isn't tighter that .705" (Improved Modified)

Mossberg 500 with a 28" barrel. You can usually get a deal where you can get the 18" and 28"
barrels, with three chokes included, for @ 375$. IME, it's a durable, light, dependable, all around
system, for the person who wants just one shotgun.

Why are you so opposed to buying once and having it work perfectly?

Only one answer here, 870, in any of it's iterations, but I'd go for a Wingmaster 3" magnum, two barrels, one 28 or 30 with Rem chokes, the other a 21" with rifle sights and remchokes. You can get chokes from crotch grabbing tight to skeet and rifled and shoot everything from sporting clays to deer. Ask the man who owns one (or seven)

Go find a used M870 pump. Millions of the made. This is one of the best of the post WW2 shotguns, steel receiver, steel most everything else. Just hold it and see if your face is the proper distance. My M870 is a Cop gun, price was great, aftermarket barrels turned out to be more expensive than I paid for the Shotgun at the local gunstore. They put on new wood, the ones that had very little bluing, had the original stocks, and they were beat to heck.

This is my first pump, works great, never had face slap. For the money, its a great shotgun. I purchased the Clect Choke barrel when they were something like $50.00 each.
