I'm liking this for dedicated subsonic use with cast bullets and a 9mm supressor. I wonder what the twists are going to be offered. A 300 grain cast bullet would be great.

Winchester ( whoever they are) did their homework.
This cartridge is going to take off like an F-16.
I've been waiting for years for a good 38 cal. straight wall cartridge with some grunt that works in a bolt gun. 357 mag was so disappointing.

Just got my Woolrich red plaid for Xmas. Gotta get me a Winnie 94 to go with it. New Blackhawk and simply rugged holster (in pic) too.I already have a mid range .35 cal.
Got a red plaid wool coat to go with it
Do plan to keep bibs and coat in my pack for long stand sits though.

I still never figured out why somebody hasn't marketed the 7TCU as a youth hunting cartridge and put it in a bolt-action. It has a bunch more power than the anemic 300Blk. It is simply a necked out 223 to .284'' with no case cutting required and amazingly accurate and it likes any powder and bullets.
Thank you for learning me something today. I went and read about 7TCU, it does look like a nice cartridge ; but to be contemporary, only the 6.5mm version must have the potential to commercially emerge now, with all its magical bullets, you know, it could soon be considered enough gun for moose, anything bigger just being way too much recoil for no reason
Back on track, has anyone seen some ballistic charts for 350 Legend? Are you able to extrapolate some with the data available using an online tool? I don't have this knowledge.

Waaaay back when, I had a 7TCU, it was VERY accurate, it is a pretty nice, lower powered cartridge...

Yes it is crazy. HP rifle when put forth as a test period with limitations on cartridges, passed.
So some HP cartridges legal..........when before it was none.
Then by accident (or was it?) the lack of definitive cartridge names left the door open for more cartridge choices.
Enough that they said to heck with it, and opened it further.
Luck, stupidity or design...........Indiana now allows HP rifles for private land deer hunting.
You gotta remember laws may require people management, inside and outside of the legislature.
I thought the TCU stuff had steeper shoulder angle and less body taper (needed fire formed).

Has any manufactures announced rifles chambered in this new cartridge? It would be simple conversion for an AR-15 but are there any firearms AR-15 or otherwise chambered for 350 Legend revealed at Shot Show?

I used 6.5 Ugalde (TCU) in IHMSA matches decades ago. Using 140 Sierra Match Kings at around 2100 FPS from a 15" barreled Contender with custom stock . Took the rams down pronto, never used it on game. I still have the Bulberry barrel and Match dies but haven't fired it in a long time . It would probably get up to 2400 FPS in a 24" barrel with the 140 bullet . The new VLD bullets would take up powder room , as the Sierra Match King did to a lesser extent. As I remember anything over 25 grains of W748 I used was a compressed load with the 140 Matchking that was held to normal AR15 magazine lengths. The twist on the Bulberry barrel was 9-1 which I think was really marginal for the 140 bullets , I remember the 120 grain range bullets shot tiny groups at the bench and the 140 sierras were twice as large , but still under MOA . I was really into building a 6.5 TCU AR15 and turned the project over to my son who was still in school in Hi. and it went nowhere, which is OK. His uncle gave him a 6.8 upper when they first came out and that was that !

Well I bought a 450 upper last fall and the stuff to load for it and have not shot it yet... I wont likely get rid of it but I am really- heck I AM GETTING one or more of the new 350's... I was tempted with it as a wildcat one thing not mentioned as a benefit vs the 450is the bulletts will be a bit more economical compared to the 450 ... and for deer as stated the 357 max is a great proven deer round! I want a bolt gun and an ar upper Should be a great Ohio deer round for sure! if lead bullets and or coated work it will be even greater

I don't know this for sure but since 350 Legend is basically a 223Rem/5.56 cartridge with the neck blown out to form a straight-wall cartridge I would expect this to use small rifle primers.

@mcb is right. The Winchester rep let me keep a few fired cases and a live round. Probably should have asked if I could pick up all of the fired brass!

What is the base diameter and neck diameter of the loaded round?
Nothing is going to be as cheap as .22 LR. The closest centerfire to that is currently 9mm. You can figure at least $1 round for this new cartridge, of course reloading will get that down under $0.20 with cast bullets.

Interesting, its slightly rebated-ed. I had assumed (dangerously) that is was using 223 Remington as the parent case but that makes its seem like it's a slightly different case. I wonder if you will be able to make 350 legend from 223 Rem brass or not?

Nope, that is not going to work due to the larger base diameter. The starline straight cases will not work either. Your going to have to buy 350 legend brass.
