Bought one new years ago, shot it a couple times in IHMSA. Hated the gripframe. Dumped it.
Found this one, was gonna swap to steel frame..........scoped it, shot decent. But was so bulky I might as well have done up a Contender.
Gone.

This is an 8" Davidson's Exclusive 22/45 "Great Eight".

I like the 6 7/8" taper bull best. Would like a MK2, w MK3 frame..........w a MK1 bbl (whatever it takes to ditch that %$#@ warning label). One the Great Eight 22/45 the warning was underneath. Smaller and w placement, tolerable. Wording of "Great Eight" on top of bbl meant I couldn't cut it down. There were some slab sides maybe of 6 7/8" around (blued).

How about a Baby Bulldog w. Folding trigger in .32 Colt

.22 single-shot I made a couple of years back- 7" OAL, 4" Barrel. Fun little plinker, and quite accurate.

Love the ears on the front sight! Very cool, kinda like a Sheridan Knockabout, only way better built.

Nice single shot! Like the grip design too (sort of reminds me of something Fuzzy Farrant use to make for S&W revolvers).

That's a "Systeme Delvigne" gun, like the French Lebel revolver and the later Russian Nagant.

They were made by half a dozen manufacturers, though Pieper was the only one of consequence other than Lebel and Nagant. Most of them were pretty close to yours, though with conventional trigger guards, though there were some interesting variations. The sliding-cylinder Nagants, of course, and the ones with the side-swinging cylinders, and the Brazilian-contract .44 caliber ones.

It was a good design, simple and rugged, and variants were in service all over the French Empire as well as in Russia.

Over the years I've owned at least one sig p220, 225, 229, 239, 2022, 250, 245 ... and I think that's it.

Shame I took so long to actually own a 226, my favorite of the lot. The beavertail and flat SAO trigger just make it perfect for me.

Pre-model 30

I am a hobby gunsmith and I enjoy getting guns and making them work and look good again. I also have modern guns for defense purpose's. I am a new member of this organization and am quite happy with the info here. These are some of my handguns. The SAA at the the bottom is one I had restored by Turnbull Restorations the grips are new fitted walnut the originals are in the picture.




These are a few more. The 1911 at the top is a Tisa's as is the BR9 (a Browning HP clone) which I have customized for carry guns. The 1911 at the bottom is an original 1911A1 by Ithaca in 1944.
I'll reply again with some more pictures.

A few more handguns.

The upper left is a Saur&Sohn which a friend found in pieces in the woods an gave to me. I ordered new missing parts and restored it.


This my favorite one. An original Colt 1911 from 1918 which somewhere in it's life was finished incorrectly. It is at Turnbull Restoration for a full restore to it's correct finish.

Lastly A Moore Belt Revolver, 1862 with it's ammo. The bottom is a Bond Arms "Old Glory" in 45 Colt or 410, it's a great gun in the car.

New acquisition- 1915-16 civilian model, nickel-plated. I'm in love!


It's accurate and quite fun to shoot. I do need to get the correct strippeer-clips; these are from something else (Steyr 1912?) and only hold eight rounds.

Nice Broomhandle and as you say, quite accurate! Always fancied one of the slightly smaller Bolo models.
