Mossberg enters the handgun market

I need to look at one!

I can see this as nothing but good for them to enter the pistol market. But time will tell. If it is good, we'll be talking about it 10 years from now along with all their other pistol offerings. If it is not, well it will go away.

What I am trying to understand that others cant seem to answer is this : What keeps the slide locked onto the frame rails ? When the gun is taken apart , the striker is removed and then the slide comes off. There is no SLIDE LOCK like the slide lock on our Glocks. To me it seems that the little "tang" on the striker along with the rear slide cover is what keeps the slide on the frame. If that is so , it is definitely a new style thing. Time will tell if it's a high mileage design. I sure hope so . What are you guy's thoughts on what keeps the slide on ?

I’ve been watching these on a certain auction site recently. 14 or 15 of them have sold on that site (all no reserve auctions). The average price at the end of the auction seems to be about $350 before shipping. There are several more lower-than-average prices on recently-ended auctions than in the beginning. I bid on one just to track the bids and that one finished at $321 today. So i think prices will continue to move lower for a little while.

Glock's slide lock is proven . It may be small but it is proven. Hopefully the Mossberg's part , whatever it may be , will be just as reliable.
