The free market will and is sorting it out.
I, for one, don't care if a yoga pants / sports bra store sells guns or not.

I frequent the Middleburg heights store quite often for reloading supplies, cleaning products, etc. I'm not sure when the last time you visited Avon Cabelas was, but they did away with a lot of the bulk ammo or at least moved it to where I couldn't find it.No, the Fin in Middleburg Heights, conveniently located just down Bagley Rd., from the Berea gun show (this weekend) at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds.

To make room for clothing that has a much higher profit margin. I don't like it either but I respect it and would do the same.they did away with a lot of the bulk ammo
I agree and don't buy anything from Dick's and a good many other businesses. They have every right to sell or not sell guns or yoga pants and to lobby congress. We have the responsibility to hold them accountable.I don't either. I do care, however, if the yoga pants store directly lobbies congress for more gun laws, engages in public advocacy designed to take away some of my rights, allows its CEO to be part of Everytown, etc.
I similarly withhold my money from other businesses that advocate against other civil rights that I think are important. Have whatever business strategy you want. Sell or do not sell whatever you want. Open or do not open on Sunday. But if you begin advocating for the restriction of constitutional rights, now you're no longer just a market actor - now you're trying to move the state. That's different.
You guys might think they're morons, but cutting unprofitable sectors is a very standard business move. The market appears to agree, given their stock is up 3.5% on the day.
It seems as though they created their own "unprofitable sector", however, which kind of makes one wonder re: their intention all along.
Sounds like Dick's is using the Sports Authority path to success
It unfortunately seems that Bass Pro / Cabela's is heading down the same road with their empasis on outdoor "lifestyle" merchandise at the expense of hunting & shooting equipment (and the trigger lock thing).
I pulled a Cabelas hoodie out of the clothes basket this morning to wear and its so think I can see daylight through it.What's baffling about that is that their outdoor gear is getting worse. Cabela's had the better house-brand stuff, but it's all been phased out in favor of the garbage that Bass Pro makes/labels. That is really a store that is on its way down. Bad merger.
One of the local TV news stations reported this morning that Dick's Sporting Goods is planning on stopping ALL sales of firearms as well as ALL hunting supplies, including clothing.
It makes you wonder how long they will be able to stay in business.
Look at the gun makers as well - they too have dropped like rocks.Double on down to the poor house. Their stock has taken a hit in the past few quarters since they started this nonsense. What Maroons!
Actually, sales are strong, profits are up, stock price is up, dividends have been steadily increasing. Dick's is doing just fine and will continue to do so.
