No extra clyinder needed .. It will fire 32 Long & short & 32acp
I would not hesitate to fire any 32 in a 327 gun, or anything other than 327 in a 32 mag, BUT I would prefer a second cylinder with an easy change mechanism simply for the consideration that there is a huge difference in cartridge length between 32sw up through 327 or 32 mag (not a huge difference between those two, but there is a difference). A second cylinder would minimize blowby in freebore bumping the power up in the shorter cartridges, and shortening up freebore at least theoretically increases accuracy. Couple those technical points with the carbon ring situation (that so many people fuss about in 357 guns shooting 38s because the same thing happens in 32 but nobody gripes about it in 32) makes me agree, 2nd maybe even 3rd cylinder would be nice. For sure make a cylinder to handle 32acp which will also fire 32sw. 32 long is what most people shoot so why not make that cylinder as well to go along with the mag and acp cylinders.

For those who own charter arms revolvers, how do the triggers compare to a j frame? I’m assuming they can also be improved by a gunsmith?

I have a 2016 Bulldog and a 2018 9mm Pitbull. The triggers are fine, pull when new is tight, reminds me a lot of the stock, new trigger on a SP101 I once had. There's little grit to them, just tough to pull. I dry fired the snot out of my Pitbull, 50 times a night, for a month or so and it really loosened up to where DA is really decent for a revolver of that nature. When I picked up my Pitbull last summer, I had forgotten how stiff the triggers were new. SA is actually really nice, but I don't often use SA on what I consider to be a "belly gun". Compared to my J-frames? I think that S&W revolver come out of the box more refined than a Ruger or Charter, so there's that. I wouldn't call a j-frame pull smoother, but I would say it's softer right out of the box.

Either way, I've had no issues with either of them, they both go bang every time.

On the topic, this one really interests me. I'll say it, the Bulldog is a handful. It is controllable, but 200-240 grain rounds in a 19oz gun puts a sting on your hand. My Pitbull is 21oz and much more manageable, as a matter of fact, I shot it a ton last summer and had fun with it.

I think its hit and miss, maybe? I have exactly one example. My last j frame was a 642. I didnt care for the trigger as I cut my snubbie teeth on an LCR. The CA I have has a hammer. Double action is acceptable but nothing like an old smith. Single action was surprising nice for a sub $400 gun. Clean break for very accurate shooting.

I'd still rather have a 6-shot .327 Fed over a 7-shot .32 H&R.

If you handload, .32 H&R can be turned up a great deal in firearms that can handle it. I've got loads for my SP101 that are pushing 90 gr. bullets at over 1,300 FPS. I don't know if this 7 shot critter would take the pressure, though. Those loads are knocking on the door of .327 pressures.

If I had a revolver in that caliber, I would definitely load for it (cast for it too). It's good to know the .32 H&R can be pushed that hard. I like the idea of being able to cast more with less lead.

My Charter revolvers out of the box trigger is gritty but lighter than a stock J frame ... I have owned a dozen and a half Charter revolvers , from Gen 1 on tho newest offferings .. Triggers are all lighter than J frames ... But they are a bit gritty .. After 100rds and Zero Friction they smooth up ...
Im sure a Gunsmith could stone the contact points ....but honestly... I really am used to there triggers and actions
I don't look at any of my Charters as target revolvers ... But as SD handguns ...
I never owned a target handgun
( I do have a Glock 21C that is more accurate than me ) ...

A DAO hammer can be purchased at Charter and you can install it in
5 min max .... I have in several of my Charters ...
And DA is better than a stock J frame ... But gritty as I mentioned... 100rds and Zero Friction , or other synthetic oil..

I need to figure out if CA is going to put out a DAO hammer for the .45 pitbull. I've got the off duty grips on mine for maximum concealment. As much as I like the SA trigger, a gun like this makes more sense in DA.

I kinda see this new .32 the same way, but I think I would use it more as a kit/woods gun over a SD piece. I think I would like to have that nice SA for impromptu plinking. The snub .45 is a belly gun for me anyway.

Not sure if I'm going to get a Boomer or this one next. The Pitbull does the Boomers job, but I really want a classic .44. However, this .32 mag ticks off all the boxes of a flexible gun. Plus, the .32 cartridge feels like a cap gun going off. Very pleasant to shoot.

Their 357 magnum frame should be able to handle .327 Federal Magnum.

I hope they come out with a .327 revolver eventually.

The 357 is built on the Bulldog frame
Same as the 44spl , Six shot 38spl, 9mm, 40S&W & the new
7 Shot 32 H&R .
The Patriot 327 also used the Bulldog frame

Charter introduces a 3 inch barrel 7 shot ( yes 7 )

A Bulldog frame, not 5 shot like the .44, not six shot like the .327, but seven shot - trade-off being an extra round in the cylinder by giving up the high pressure levels of the .327.

Great. I like the idea. If I wanted to get the absolute maximum velocity out of a .32 I'd opt for a Single Seven with the closest thing they make to a 6 inch barrel.

Sounds very intriguing for an EDC gun, although I'm not quite sold on the unusual looking grips. Just plain ol' Charter Bulldog grips would work for me. I really like the 3" barrel though. Perfect barrel length to carry discreetly on one's hip under a cover garment.

If/when they have a DAO hammer spur for it, I will probably buy one eventually. Seven rounds is better than five or six. I am comfortable with 32 H&R for SD.

I already have three other CA revolvers and ordered a 22lr this morning. The triggers on mine are surprisingly good. I wish they had a DAO hammer for their 45acp Pit Bull.

Does the DAO hammer spur they offer for sale on their website not work with it?

Yes, the DAO hammer works on the small frames and Bulldog frames ..
But not on the XL frame

Takes less than 5 minutes to install

Yes, so much the better. Why bother with pushing a revolver made for EDC/CCW to the limits of its design specs when you can just go buy a Ruger, and then you have both?

The Ruger is heavy .. a single action , andvhas a 7.5 inch barrel .
For a woods carry , camping & hiking .. Yep the Ruger ...

But for SD carry ... The Charter .. Hands down ...

My Charter Police Undercover 6 shot 38spl .. Is on my coffee table as I type this ... stoked with 6 Federal 130gr HST

I will be a first run tester for one of these. I've been eyeing Charter revolvers for a while and have also been looking for a 3" .32 H&R revolver for the wife so this fits the bill for me. Plus, the older I get the more I appreciate the fiber optic front sight.

I'm looking forward to the bobbed hammer for mine too.
