Glock's new spokesman - Chuck Norris

To me, this seems like a bit of a dated endorsement. The Chuck Norris meme is a bit worn out. The only thing I can see is that maybe Glock is going after the boomer market? He's sold a lot of Total Gyms.

Truth be told, I dont think I have ever paid attention to whoever is pitching a gun. I usually watch for press releases. If a gun interests me, I'll seek out reviews. Hickock45 has certainly inspired me to buy more firearms than any celebrity endorsement.

While I like Keanu Reeves movies, he is not open supporter of 2A or NRA but Chuck Norris has been an active open supporter of 2A and NRA.

While not openly anti-gun, Keanu Reeves is not even a gun owner.

And yet he competes in 3-gun-matches. Kinda confused about how, unless he rents them

The interview everyone wants to quote of Keanu saying he wasnt a gun owner was back closer to Matrix era than now. He also, responded to the question of "so do you believe citizens should have weapons" in the same interview. His response was "yeah, why not". So while his response wasnt exactly lucid and well thought out nor was he giving a good Joe Montagna, ish (or even Ice T and Sam Jackson have explained it better) speach about the forefathers and right to self defense, he was pro 2A, even If his response was a bit reminiscent of Bill and Ted.
I wish more people who "are not even gun owners" would defend our right to be, like Keanu did back then.

At the end of the day, he's just another actor. There are a lot of people that would get my attention, the policeman that used a Glock to resolve a hostage situation, the old lady who had one and overcame a break-in or the woman who stopped to rape attempt with a Glock. These would hold my attention. Quite frankly, Norris would have to follow the "somebody picked the wrong…" commercials. While the man has the skills and discipline, I really don't believe he has that much talent. The Gunny is too tough an act for him to follow.

Chuck Norris sucks. Had to give me another reason to dislike a Glock? I was just starting to come around again too.

He lives down the road from me.. He does a ton of good stuff for his community and a lot of charity work, genuinely a nice person.
Now I just need to get him to sign one of my Glocks so I can flip it to a fanboy... lol

The video that shows Keanu shooting 3-gun is "training" for movie John Wick with trainer Taran Butler at his range.

Keanu Shredding with Taran Butler Chapter 2 Director's Cut

Here Keanu talks about Taran

Can you make it a NIB Gen3 Glock 20SF signed on top of the slide for this fanboy? :D

You know, it's for my wife ... big fan of Chuck and Glock. ;)

You guys can have The Chuck. I will take Kelly.

View attachment 835588

If you read what Kelly has to say, is down to earth, practical, promotes safety and awareness. Does a spokesperson have to be tacticool? A three gun champion? Is John Wick movies going to appeal to the mainstream public? (Personally do not even like his over the top shooting and killing).
There are more to guns than Just self defense. Many families particpate in all kinds of programs, NRA offers so many classes on safety, CCW and on and on. Not to mention tradition, hunting, target sports etc. NRA already has their supporters, why not bring in others that are anti gun. Keep up with the clean image. More and more women have started shooting. My club has a group of just women. This group attracts more and more.
Women want protection. Maybe more so then men. I was in the Electronic Security industry for years. One thing I learned was that the Number one cause of death in the workplace for women, was murder. Just going to a parking lot after work.
I say forget all the focus on Particular guns as weapons, and focus more on awareness, safety and family.

When some people ask me why I shoot, I tell them I like to make holes on paper ... Sometimes smiley faces, sometimes A ... B ... C ... with a smile and a wink.

Then they smile back and want to learn how to make holes on paper too. :D

We all have opinions.
My opinion is Glock had the very best spokes person in the Gunny. Chuck Norris in my humble option is respected by many and has a wide following. While to me no one can replace the Gunny, Norris is an excellent choice. Are there better choices? Well, once again, YMMV.

I appreciate that Chuck Norris is pro-2A and I like Chuck as an entertainer, but as with many other celebrities I have to put some of his repugnant political endorsements (Taliban Mike Huckabee) and personal beliefs aside to enjoy his work.

Can’t win ‘em all. Oh well.

Im glad to hear he's a 2A supporter. Still think his acting sucks. Defintely not a tough guy as so many memes claim him to be. Just a Steven Seagal type guy. Fake tough guys. As far as shooting goes, Keanu Reeves appears to be the real deal, Tom Cruise appears to be the real deal as well. So tired of the Chuck Norris tough guy bs though.

Actually, Chuck Norris was a Texas peace officer and participated in serving search warrants near the DFW Metroplex. Anyone who goes through the door to face the unknown is a tough guy.

Chuck Norris was an actual karate champion and had a fairly long career and reign as world champ. He’s also a military veteran.

I agree, he’s not a great actor, but he’s probably a decent human being in that he’s very charitable and puts his money where his mouth is. It’s great he’s pro-2A. I don’t like his political endorsements, but unlike Ted Nugent and Steven Seagal, Norris actually served and didn’t draft dodge, and isn’t a multiple accused rapist, respectively.

Do a search for photos “Chuck Norris with a Glock” and other various search terms.

There are none.

Good to see he finally came around.

No he is getting old and his standards are slipping.....selling his soul to the devil and mattel.

Oy vey,
There's no need for that. Keep in mind the man's an actor. He makes his living pretending to be something he's not as convincingly as possible.

Keep in mind that Mister Glock's marketing savvy only works for first-time buyer. If they didn't have something that appealed to a certain segment of the public there would be no second sales. You don't like them, that's obvious. You and I agree on that. There are people that do like them… That doesn't make us right and them wrong it simply means they have different expectations for the product. It could be that the marketing people have come to the conclusion that people that will like Glocks also tend to like old guy action movie stars. Part of marketing is to appeal to the segment of the market that is going to tempted to buy your goods. Part of being an actor is sometimes taking commercial gigs to help pay the rent whether you believe in the product or not. Sounds to me like they are both just doing their jobs.

Everyone forgive me, but has any firearms manufacturer ever had a “celebrity” spokesman?

Not a competitive shooting champion, but Gunny / Chuck type spokespeople.
