I purchased some used dies and I'm thinking, the seating plug may be the SWC type if so, will it work for 44 JSP and JFP bullets? I think it must be a vintage type that has the 1/4" x 28 thread stem which has to be threaded in and, removed out the bottom of the die. I plan to load 44 magnum only Any info will sure be helpful Thanks! :)

Unless you are seating a fragile or tipped rifle bullet. . . I just can't see the seating stem damaging the bullet enough to matter. Provided the stem is conical enough to center the bullet, just use it. If it leaves a mark, it's a smaller mark than will be left by obturation.

You always have the option of calling RCBS. However, after posts here that call would be unnecessary. If I get a ring around the nose of the bullet it would be time to reach out. Try um' and see what happens.
