I need some help on which to get. I have the lcr in 22, 357, 9mm.

Thinking to get another. Interested in the extra round and low kick options on the 327.

Like the extra barrel length on the 357.

What to do?

I really like the 327, as I’m sure everyone is tired of hearing... but you asked!

For a 3 inch, I’m holding out for the new Charter Professional in 32 H&R Magnum.

That does sound good too. What about ammo availability in the 32’s? Has that been a problem for you?

If there is an choice i would always take the more powerful cartridge, it can always be down loaded to ideal performance/recoil for your application. Plus if you already shoot 357 you dont need to do anything but shoot, if you decide to sell the gun youre not stuck trying to sell the ammo too. Just my .02

Seems you already have Nice LCR's. If just going for the low recoil, I would think about the Charter Arms Undercoverette at only 15 oz. I love my LCR9mm. For me very easy recoil, can take a whole lot of rounds down range etc. But end up Carrying the Smith 642 more because of the Weight. Personally I like to keep all my carry guns down in weight.
PS You could also consider the LCR22 for a substantial amount of more training.

And only $375.00

327 if you reload or want something good but a little different. 357 if you don't reload or prefer to standardize your calibers.

Ammo selection will be less and more expensive to buy but considering what you already have I would buy .327.

Considering you already have 3X LCRs it seems like you like them. If you want something different get the .327 Magnum. I'm not sold on the .327 so I would get the 3" .357 Magnum instead.

If it were me I would get the .327 version if only to add another chambering to the LCR collection!

I would definitely go with the .357, If recoil is a problem you can always back it down to a 38 Spl for target or range work! My 357s get about an equal diet of 38 SPl and full house .357 loads. Very versatile!

I like the idea of a 3" .357. Get the 3". As far as the .327 it is a good round but from what I have seen they tend to be expensive. I imagine it will go the way of the .45 GAP.

I'll bet there will be a 327 along soon enough with the three inch barrel.

I bought a 3" 357 as soon as they came available. Really like it. Recoil with full house 158gr factory ammo is strong, but not painful. Ruger got the grip design just right for that.

25 yard target, full house loads, mod weaver,

For a compact revolver intended for self-defense, it's hard to ignore the advantage of having 20% more ammunition on board. But, I too wish the LCR chambered in .327 Federal Magnum, having a concealed hammer, would have a 3" barrel length option.

I just realized last night as I was looking for holsters, there seem to be MUCH LESS good iwb/kydex options for the 3” versions. That may make the decision for me more than anything else. 327 may be it. Thanks.

Yep. I’d really really love a 3” 327, lcr. Would be nice to have option of hammerless in a 3” like the kimber

I went by the closest gun store that had the 3” versions to hold- Palmetto State Armory in Columbia SC.

No 327 version available and the “revolver specialist” said they’ve never had or sold one in 327 that he was aware of.

So... I got the 3” 38 (which I really wasn’t thinking to) and spent a half hour on the range and put 140 rounds flying. Shoots a little low with the 130 grain stuff I had. I’ll try some other fodder another time.

The 357 was just a bit heavier than I wanted to carry all the time and lockup was way too tight for me.

I changed out the grip to one of the original lcr small hogues and it shot better for me than the big/long one that came with it.

Loving it. Have the lcr appendix and my sig p365 in my pocket in an Alabama kydex.

Thanks for all the input guys.

Good choice...I understand your reasoning. Personally, I'm going to get the 3" .357 as I prefer the additional weight.

I didn't care for the long grip on my LCRx 3" .22WMR either. I opted for the Pachmayr Diamond Pro...they are a nice fit for the 3" LCRx.

327 Based on what you already own. Then get a Smith 642 for every day carry.
