Glock Alternate (Not the Usual Question)

CZ P10C or Walther PPQ M2.

For a midsize double stack polymer pistol anyway.

Can I just shoot the ones I have? I’m pretty sure I will wear out before they will.

I like Glocks and the Steyr A1's are Glocks improved.
Now if Steyr could just learn to market their products....

I'm thinking the M&P would have a headstart, but with the military going with the Sig it will have the advantage long term. In fact I think that within 10 years it will challenge Glock even with Glock being an option. That would be my pick

Well, I already have two M&Ps so, I’m good to go.
I have a Sig P320 M17 and like it, but the M&Ps fit my hand better.

I don't own any Glocks, so if they disappeared, I'd just say "Huh, weird."

I would and do shoot my VP9, and there are lots of other great polymer striker fired guns out there to choose from.

I have owned multiple M&P's through the years and would likely stick with them.

If glocks got raptured tomorrow my flock would all still be here...

If Glock were gone (only have the one, a very early production G17), I would consider similar type guns by SIG, Steyr, CZ, HK, and Ruger. Have never been a big fan of most of the S&W M&P models or the various SA XD series. Nothing wrong with them; just not a good fit ergonomically with me.

In my estimation, all the Glocks getting raptured would force a lot of people to realize that most of the polymer striker-fired guns are pretty fungible. I expect their market share would get distributed out among several of the existing competitors (Sig, S&W, Walther primarily and, I would guess, in about that order).

Hmmm, which other company would I want to support that had one really good idea 4 decades ago and hasn't done any innovation since then?

I'm at a loss. My guess is that Glock guys would hang their heads, throw away their Glock branded t-shirts and quietly disperse into the many other offerings available, much like if Harley Davidson disappeared tomorrow.

If Glock disappeared, it would be time for me to switch back to metal guns in SAO, but 9mm this time instead of the 45s I started with.

P210, CZ75, Sig P229, Wilson EDCX9, etc.

If I'm not mistaken S&W sells a lot more handguns than Glock, but I don't know how the M&P line specifically compares to Glock in sales. Between the two I prefer M&Ps, and there are lots of them out there.

What I have bought, the SIG P365

My guess is the lions share would go M&P and SIG 320 if for no other reason then they are in a lot of PD and soon to be Mil holsters.

Now how about a really scary thought for most ..... what if ALL the tactical Tupperware got raptured?

I would pick up a CZ P-07 to go with my CZ P-09. I would miss my original Glock 19, though, so I am glad this is just a theoretical exercise.

I'd go back to the Browning Hipower if all the Glocks disappeared...none of the rest of the polymers do it for me like Glock.
