I did a search but did not find what I am looking for:
Does the new Kimber K6s DASA have the same trigger feel as the original DAO? Or, is it different because of the inclusion of SA (like a Ruger SP101, for instance)? The original Kimber offering was proud of its "no-staging" trigger pull, perhaps rightly so. Did they change that pull when they came out with the new DA/SA model?

It is not hard to get a feel for the original trigger to "SA" position. It's that clean and crisp.
This is by far, overall the crispest, handling pistol I've ever used.
(which ain't setting the bar that high)

I'm not sure there is anyone that can answer that question. From what I've heard the new Model has not hit stores yet. I certainly could be wrong and hope I am. I want one of the new Hammer 3" guns so bad I can taste the metal on the back of my throat. Based on the quality of the previously produced revolvers, I'm betting the new Kimber will be leaps and bounds ahead of the new King Cobra in quality. They won't sell as well mainly because of name recognition. but I'm putting my money on the Kimber as far as quality. The recently released Colt Cobra is a good gun. The Kimber KS6 is a great gun. This is my opinion and the opinion of at least 90% of the people I've talked to that have shot both guns. I'm sure a lot of people like the Cobra better and will like the King Cobra better than the new Kimber. I'm just looking forward for the opportunity to see for myself first hand. I too am curious how much difference there is in the trigger on the new Kimber. I hate hammerless and DA only revolvers. I love the Kimber. You can basically shoot it SA once you get a feel for the unique action. It will be interesting.
If someone knows where any are available, please post the info. I'm a buyer ready to go

Fro the website:
The K6s (DASA) is next evolution of the Kimber revolver product line that takes the acclaimed K6s system and outfits it with a double and single action trigger mechanism. The platform maintains the benefits of the original K6s such as the outstanding double action trigger pull, compact envelope, and six shot capacity but with the added advantage of a single action trigger. The 3 inch barrel provides the shooter with wider sight radius for better precision.
So Kimber says yes, and there is no reason why they could not have just added SA to it without changing the DA if they so desired, and I assume they would since the DA of the original gets such high praise.. Looking forward to real world reports.

I would love to know that tomorrow night I would by typing out a report. I want one bad. Not bad enough to go crazy and pay above retail but I want one bad. While I think they will be popular with a certain group of people that either love the KS6 now or that are 3" barrel nuts like me, I don't see anything like the mad rush that took place with the Colt Cobra. That was sort of a fluke in the gun industry. I think the fact that it was Colts re entry into the revolver market that made the Cobra so desirable and I think that Colt added to the desirability by only shipping just a few here and there at the onset. Only my opinion, but I think this was part of Colt's marketing plan from the word go. It worked like a charm. I'm sure there are a lot of people feeling sort of stupid who paid over 1k for a Cobra and now you can find them close to half that. I think Kimber is doing some market playing games as well. The new Kimber has been advertised for a while and still not shipping. That's all part of the game. Build up the excitement and when they do start hitting the market consumers will run out and grab one not caring about the cost. Of course there is always a group that could care less about the cost of a gun if they want one.

The Kimbers are nice guns.

That said, a properly worked S&W will put anything else to shame. I've got a 686 no dash, don't know who did the work on it, but the trigger is a glass smooth 6 lbs 12 oz in double action. SA is 1 lb 13 oz.

The K6 didn't require any work.

I think what Kimber was going for was exactly what they made. Just a simple
hammerless DA self defense gun. Snag free, no complications, nothing extra.
What distinguishes this gun, IMO, is it's dedication to the set purpose of being the quintessential pocket revolver. If you really want the set features of this particular gun,
it's probably the last (or only) snubbie you will ever buy. (Good thing, too, considering what they cost.)

Folks wanting
a snubbie with SA and a hammer, Ruger and S&W have done it to death,
already.

I am surprised they are releasing a DASA model. I am quite happy with the DA only given the trigger action. If they see a market for the new model, great I hope it is successful for them. I won't be looking to trade or add one. Just my $.02

Wow! That's almost too light of a SA pull. Actually it is too light for most shooters. I'm not much of a DA fan but I'd love to give yours a whirl in DA. A guy that used to shoot with us back in the 70's and 80's was a self proclaimed gunsmith and he had a Colt Python that he had worked on and swore the DA was at 5lbs. I've shot hundreds of revolvers in my life and his was light but I don't think it was under 6lbs and it was not smooth at all. I've had the pleasure of knowing one of the most respected gunsmiths in the country for many years and while he could care less about working on a handgun (double barrels are his specialty) he has done a couple of trigger jobs for me over the years and there is a difference in light and smooth and light and rough. Obviously you don't see much difference in SA but a quality DA trigger job is a real pleasure to shoot. I'd rather shoot a 7lb smooth trigger than a 6lb amateur job. With that being said, the Kimber DA is not as smooth as properly tuned Smith, but the design where you can almost stop it and shoot SA if you want is very attractive to me. I can shoot my Kimber a lot more accurate than any other DA only revolver I've ever shot.

I didn’t realize this existed til I read this thread. I did an image search, those are nice looking! Definitely on my want list now, and just very well might bump the 3” SP101 off of the list.

Dont torture us man, we need pics!:)
Have you tried a 3” holster for a J or K Frame? I used to carry my 2” Kimber in a IWB holster that was designed for a K frame Smith if I remember correctly but it could have been a k frame. When my buddy beat me out of the gun, he got holster too.

My K6 fits all of my j frame holsters well.

Kimber has some K6 holsters at their website. Perhaps they have something listed there?

I've had a 3" SP101 in 357 magnum 10 years or so. It is a great, and very robust little gun. But the trigger is garbage in comparison to the Kimber K6, and the Kimber gets you an extra round and better sights.

Honestly, if I was in the market for a smallish 3" revolver in 357 magnum, the new Colt King Cobra would get a heavy look, and the Kimber as well. The Ruger would get a brief glimpse as I move on to the other two guns.

The only reason I still have mine is sentiment. It's the first handgun I ever bought, and I love it for that reason. But if it was just a gun I'd bought, I'd have traded it for a K6 months ago.
