My choice was a Shield 9mm with a +2 mag extension. $299, plus a $12 mag extension. Slim, has a manuel safety, and is 9+1. Dead reliable , with lots of after market options.
Sorry, never shot a 1911 Style Micro 9. I have shot the P238 and the Mustang but those are both .380. I didn't think "Cocked & Locked" SA Style Pistols where being considered based on the list.
I've carried (in this order) A PPS M1, 1911, Kahr CM9, SIG P290RS, Shield 9MM and have now gone to the PPS M2. Reasons for the evolution were PPS M1 started having FTE problems after every 3000 or so rounds (shot the gun VERY WELL), 1911 got to be just to darn heavy, Kahr CM9 had the worst trigger in any gun and reminded me of the match guns we made out of cloths pins, SIG's trigger came in number two in the all time worst list, Shield was reliable, fed everything I gave but after two years and approximately 5K+ down the pipe it STILL didn't feel as good as the PPS......... so I bought a M2, put a thousand rounds through it to check it's reliability and I carry it or 44 Special revolver. At work it's a G20 with two reloads.

I'm also a revolver guy and I would and did buy another revolver as a secondary carry gun.
That said I would probably buy a P365. Very nice shooting pistol.

I carry Flush Mags with Backup Extended Mags (1 for Compacf & 2 for Shield & LCP)
For me I find just a small increase in size offsets any extra recoil from caliber. I found the 9 mm Shield with extended mag to narrow, the .45 Shield with flush mag (2 less rounds) had a similar size but was slightly wider and I shot it more accurately with similar splits.
My point is not to try to talk you out of a 9 but point out that small differences in size and fit can make a very real difference in shooting.
Ive heard some complain the Sig 365 Grips are a little to aggressive. I personally would prefer a little more aggressive. I like the original Shield .45 texture. They softened it a bit on the M2.0.
PS My Mother really likes her SP101 and for me it has enough weight that 125 gr .357 becomes doable unlke a J-Frame.

Oops. I was asking if you've shot it just to compare the 938 to the 365 recoil wise and handling characteristics. Don't want a micro 9 as a CCW. Especially one cocked and locked without a grip safety, don't much like that idea. My brother carries his safety off and no round in the chamber.
I'll have to check out the 45 cal shield aswell. But you make a good point on how a little difference here and there make big differences in handling. As to the sp101, that was my previous ccw before my model 60. I traded my 2.25" sp101 for the 3" model 60. I liked the sp101 alot, but wanted a little more barrel length. I happened across my current model 60 used for a good price So i didn't want to pass it up. The 3" sp101 sitting in the gun store case is very appealing I must say.
The 3" model 60 with .357's isn't too bad since its got some weight behind it. I carry it with 38+P's. I also put a set of Altamont grips on it that cover the back strap and give me a 3 finger hold. I rounded off the bottom and it conceals very well now .

I agree. It's surprising how much impact small differences can make. I've been considering switching to a .45 Shield myself, but I can't see selling my Shield 9 to do so.

My thoughts exactly, which why I ordered one from GrabaGun last night. $455 with tritium night sights and 3 mags (2 extended). If you don't need the extras it can be had for $360. I've shot the 365 and was very impressed with how it handled, but it was just a bit too small for my hand. (It's loud as hell also!)

Kahr has the worst trigger? Lol, Hardly. It is a great DAO. If you do not shoot DAO is one thing, but to say the Kahr trigger is the worst out there is nonsense. A whole lot of people will disagree with you on that one.
And to compare the CM9 to a PPS M2 is not close to a apples to oranges. Not just one a light striker fired vs DAO, but the size. The PPM2 would be in the sub compact class. At least for myself.

Think I will quote Hickcock45 on the CM9 "Great Trigger, Great Firearm". It seems many folks that like light striker fired trigger refer to DAO triggers in a negative way. Or say they are long. Yea, I guess compared to something like my LC9S which breaks so fast that the DAO is long.
Feel free to pull up his very positive video as well as many others. It is very rare to hear someone knock the Kahr trigger.

Glock 43X/48 were made for mag cap restricted states IMO.
Glock 30 and XD mod 2 3.3, both in .45 ACP are very nice carry guns and smooth shooters.

Highly recommend the SR9C, Very mild shooting, Extremely well made.You like high round count? This 23 oz sub compact comes with a standard 10 +1 mag for easy carry and easily converts to a full size gun with a 17 +1 round magazine. Break down a SR9C and compare to other guns. Solid, and lot of steel in the chassis. I just ordered more 17 round mags. Saw one the other day for only $299.00. That is a steal. One of the best buys out there.

Being first a double-action revolver shooter (qualified "Expert" in LE back in another time), I do like the trigger on my Kahr CW45 a lot. I just wish the gun performed more reliably in my hands. I'm gonna work on that some more.

I did start a thread asking about this versa, but comparing it to the sr9c ,it looks like it's a pretty dang compact package for a good price aswell.

My comment was meant as a positive, not a negative. It's a lot smoother than most S&W revolvers in DA mode.
To each his own, if you like it cool, if you shoot that weapon well, outstanding. Disagreement is ok, I stand by my statement. The PPS trigger is not the "best" but in comparison to the Kahr it's light years ahead. There's a reason why EVERY federal officer I know personally doesn't like the Kahr. Stay safe.

Here's a little update after I dropped by my LGS today. Few thoughts on the guns I handled.
Pm9/p45.
I really like the feel of these little pistols. I love the triggers, long but sooo smooth. And they break nice and clean. They had 2x used pm9's for $350 an p45 for 450 and a p40 for 400. If the p45 was a p9 I probably would have bought it. I'm still contomplating grabbing one of those pm9's up, although a little smaller than I'd like. Than again with a pinky extension it would be nice.

They are on sale $609 for the one with the bright orange ameriglo sights and $550 for the standard model. They feel great in the hands. Trigger is pretty nice for a striker fired gun. But not as clean as the revolvers or sa/da I'm used to. Do like the pistol.

LGS had them for 339. I love the way they feel. It's light yet feels like a decently made gun. It's a nice compact little package. It is the right size and feel that I'm looking for. I much prefer it's trigger over the striker guns. It was smooth with a nice clean break, much like what I'm used too. The safety was ok, it is a little tough to engage and is stiff. But I would think it will loosen with use. The sights did suck and would have to be changed our I would have to get creative with the nail polish.
Didn't handle the p30's or the vp9's because they were more than I care to pay. The g43x and g48 we're longer in the grip than I care to conceal. They didn't have a p365 in stock for me to play with either. I think I have a buyer lined up for my Redhawk, so Im on the watch for my next gun now.

While in no hurry to part w/ either the Glock G36 6+1 .45 ACP or Sig P-938 6+1 9mm Para...
If I was starting out? The Glock G48 10+1 9mm Para would be very attractive.
