What gun have you never had the chance to shoot but would love to?

Believe it or not, I have never held or fired a Browning Hi-power. I got to hold one a couple of weeks ago When my collector friend gave me one to hold for him until he can leave California. I posted pics of it a while back. Why don't I shoot it? Because it's a T series made in 68 and it has never been fired. And I promised I would not shoot it. And that's that.

Oddly enough, got one in .30 in my basement. Not mine, holding for a friend as he packs for a new house etc. It's a very, very nice rifle and absolutely Mr Newton was a time traveler. Looks like it was made in the 70s or 80s. Insane for the teens.

A LGS actually had a "long range shooting event" that was supposed to be held today at a range that hosts USPSA and IDPA matches that I'm familiar with. It's been raining on and off all day so I dont know if they had it or not, I didnt go because of the weather.

Anyhow they were supposed to have a number of different rifles with different glass set up for folks to try out. It was free to come to the event and free to try out the guns.

However, if you made a $10 donation to the cause they'd let you shoot either a 50BMG or 338L. The 50 has been on my list to shoot for a while.


I had been planning on going for weeks now but the combination of the weather, the 1.5hr drive and not knowing whether the event was even still being held I didnt make the trip. Maybe one day....

I want to shoot an AR10 platform, in fact it will be my next purchase.

A minigun. I saw Anthony Zimmern shooting one from a Jeep at Dillon's in one of his food show episodes.

I has the chance to shoot a 50 BMG bolt action but I had a broken wrist at the time, so decided to pass on that.

Holland & Holland double rifle, 500 nitro express. Second choice a Luger 9mm, WWII trophy.

This is a tough one. I've tried a .45-70 Contender pistol (once!), fired a Luger, fired a Barrett .50 BMG (M82 maybe), M-1 Garands, a Thompson SMG (NFA), Armalite AR18 (NFA), MP5 (NFA) and Uzi (NFA) along with bunches of others that fall into the "cool" category for serious gun geeks.

Maybe I'd like to finally try a Freedom Arms 82 in .454 Casull. My understanding is they aren't particularly pleasant for most but are fantastically accurate if you can handle it.

I've shot more rounds from the M107 than I care to remember. A nice 338 LM from either Surgeon or Blaser- a totally different experience. Much more "civilized".

I've fired the M134 for familiarization, and I've seen them fired from both vehicles and aircraft during some of the more exciting moments in my life. They are very.... inspiring.

My brother has one of those semi-auto BARs that I would love to try out sometime!

I have 2, A Tikka T3 lite, and a Weatherby MKV ultralight. both are very light, and with fast 120 gr bullets they remind me of a .270

I was at the range and a fellow was shooting a Barrett .50 at a full size silloette target ay 100yds. Couldn't hit the paper, ans it had been bore sighted. We pulled the bolt and looked down the bore, and the scope crosshairs was on the bull. I looked it over and was going to shoot it for him, when i noticed had had a NC Star scope on it. i told him he needed to purchase a decent scope and didn't get to shoot it. Should have kept my mouth shut until after i got to shoot it.

There are a few;
A high quality classic double rifle in any one of the African Dangerous Game cartridges.
A 6mm PPC Benchrest Rifle. (I shoot 600 and 1000 yard BR but would love to try short range)
A Military or LE 308 sniper rifle. ( just to see if they shoot as well or better than mine)

And not following the guidelines, a couple of the current Squad Automatic Weapons! Maybe even one of the multi-barrel guns! I've shot some WW2, Korean and Vietnam stuff.

I'm going to buy a 25-06 very soon. I figure I get more punch than the 243,more distance and k lockdown power of the 270. I hunt deer and coyote and just seems to be the best all around cartridge

I would like, but have not had the chance to fire a Fraser Twenty-Five.
A copy of the Baby Browning, made here in Michigan for only a few years. The one I held was nice. But, I still need my arm and both legs...
While I'm at it I may as well shoot a real FN Baby Browning. Just to compare.

I would like to get a hand on a Vz Fifty some day, too.

I haven't gotten a chance to shoot a friends Seecamp Thirty-Two, either. I made a set of grips for it, as the originals were unloved, severely. I did not get a chance to shoot it before it was to be returned to his mother. All for a lack of ammunition. Spiffed up with new wood and no tackle box smell, she was very happy, to tears.

A full auto anything. However, I would prefer shooting an M2.
